men's Hospital Auxiliary will be
held in the nurses' residence next
Tuesday, January 9.
FIRESIDE FELLOWSHIP GROUP
Misses Margaret a n d Bess
Grieve were hostesses to the Fire-
side Group of First Presbyterian
Church following their attendance
at the Egmondville Church prayer
meeting. The president, Miss Alice
Reid, was in the chair and con-
ducted a short business period.
Mr. and Mrs. James F. Scott
invited the group to their home
for the February meeting. This
meeting will take the form of a
crokinole party and a box social.
Several other items of business
were discussed but were left over
for the next meeting.
A lunch of coffee, doughnuts and
Christmas cake was served by the
hostesses. Alice Reid thanked the
hostesses.

The January meeting of the Sea -
forth W.I. will be held at the home
of Miss Thelma Elgie on Tuesday
afternoon, Jan. 10, at 2:15 p.m.
Guest speaker will be Miss Bette
Tillman, Home Economist of Hur-
on County, speaking on "Herbs
And Spices." The motto, "Good-
ness is the only investment that
never fails," will be taken by Mrs.
J. Hillebrecht. The roll call will
be answered with a recipe for a
supper dish. A demonstration will
be given by club girls.
This is the Home Economics
meeting, convened by Mrs. J. Hil,-

the sudden death of Mr. Alex Bry-
son, who died suddenly there Janu-
ary lst. He was the husband of

A miscellaneous shower in honor
of Miss Phyllis Butters, whose
marriage to John Morris is an
event of January 14, was spon-
sored by Rose Marie Feeney, Mrs.
Ed. Rowland and the Dublin Wo-
men's Institute•, was held at her
home in Dublin, Tuesday evening.
About 50 friends and neighbors as-
sembled to extend felicitations to
the prospective bride.
An address was read by Mrs.
Rowland, and the guest of honor
was assisted in opening numerous
useful gifts of linen and china.
The Institute presented a steer
ironing board and cover and
clothes hamper.
A social hour was spent in play-
ing various games, and a delicious
lunch was served by the sponsors
and their assistants.

THE LORNE CARTER FAMILY are quite proud of "Fairmont
Regal Dreamer", one of their prize-winning Jersey herd. This ani-
mal, exhibited above by their son, Donald, was a top •winner at
the Royal Winter Fair this year. Later, the two-year-old animal
was entered in the International Livestock Exposition, Chicago, and
came out as Reserve Grand Champion. The Carters have long
been top winners in Jersey classes at fall fairs throughout the area
and the Western Fair at London, and this year the pictured bull

platform and an address was read
by Miss Donna Smith, after which
the gifts were opened and display-
ed. A number of ladies attended
from Brussels. Lunch was served
by the 8th and 16th ladies.
On Thursday afternoon the mem-
bers of the CGIT held a bowling
party in Seaforth. Upon their re-
turn to the church, the girls were
entertained by their WMS Mystery
Mothers. Following a delicious din-
ner, the Christmas Vesper Service
was conducted by Shirley Bolger,
assisted by Anne Achilles, Geral-
dine Dennis and Jean Bolger. Ruth
Ritchie and Barbara Turnbull fav-
ored with a duet, "O Holy Night."
The story, "Sandra's Christmas
Miracle," was given- in a most
interesting way by Mary Helen
Buchanan. The service closed with
the benediction.
Mrs. George Dundas has resign-
ed her position as Librarian of
the Walton Public. Library, after
12 years of continuous and faith-
ful service. Her successor will be
Mrs. Torrance Dundas. The Lib-
rary Board would appreciate any
new members wishing to join. Lib-
rary hours are: Tuesday, 2 p.m.
to 4 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. to 9:30
p.m.
