fortune to fall on the ice last Wed-
nesday and although had no brok-
en bones, has been confined to his
home.

Mrs. Ken Preszcator and family.
Mr. Bill ,Millson, of Wyoming,
spent the weekend with his mother,

Miss. RacheI MacKenzie, who
has been a. patient in ScotMem-
orial Hospital for the past eight

CGIT Vesper Service
The Constance CGIT presented
their Christmas Vesper and Can-
dlelight service Sunday evening.
Misses Mary MacGregor and Joyce
Brown read the Scripture, The
candlelighters were Misses Janice
Jewitt, Margaret MacGregor,
Mary Buchanan and Glenyce Jew-
itt, and the Misses Linda Nott and
Mary Mcllwain took up the offer-
ing. The choir sang the anthems
as listed by the special service,
accompanied by Mrs. F. Riley.
Rev. H. Funge gave the address
on `Sandra's Stay in the Hospi-
tal." Mrs. Borden Brown took the
leaders' part in the service. After
the benediction the service closed
with the CGIT Taps.

Wins County Scholarship
Miss Margaret Smillie, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Smil-
lie, a first-year student at Mac-
donald Hall, Guelph, has been,
awarded the Huron County Coun-
cil's scholarship for general pro-
ficiency. Miss Smillie received
word of the award recently from
J. H. Kinkead, B.A., B.Paed., In-
spector of Public Schools for the
county. Value of the award is
$100. She is a former student at
South Huron District High School.

Mrs. Gordon Schwalm and Miss
Hannah Murray gave readings.
A delicious lunch was served fol-
lowing the program, by Mrs. John
Baker, Mrs. John Skea and Mrs.
T. Wilson.
The Hensall Pee Wees defeated
Lambeth at Hensall Friday night
by a score of 3-2. Gordon Deitz
played a wonderful game on de-
fence, scoring two, unassisted
goals. Laverne Harburn had one
unassisted goal to his credit. Keith
Havens was goal tender, his first
game in the net, making a good
showing. The next game at Hen-
sall is Friday, Dec. 16, Ailsa Craig

the marriage of Myrtle indy
Adele, daughter of • Mrs. Ernest
Knox and the late Ernest Knox,
R.R. 1, Blyth, to Mr. Gordon Har-
old Swan, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Swan, Clinton. The Rev.
Henry A. Funge officiated at the
ceremony. The organist, Miss Mar-
garet Jackson, accompanied the
soloist, Mrs, Pamela Saddler.
Given in marriage by her cousin,
Murray Neal, the bride wore a
full-length gown of silk organza
over taffeta. The shirred bodice
was designed with lily -point sleeves
and a' sabrina neckline edged with
colored sequins and pearls. Simi-
lar lace appliues crested the bouf-
fant skirt. A', sequin and pearl
tiara held the chapel veil, and she
carried a bouquet of red roses.
Miss Irene Saint was maid of
honor. The bridesmaid was Miss
Sybil Castle, and the junior brides-
maid was Miss Sheila Bamsy.
They wore identical gowns of red
velvet, and carried white carna-
tions.
Calvin Garrow was the grooms-
man, and the ushers were Melvin
Knox and Donald Swan.
The wedding luncheon was serv-
ed in the church parlor. Receiv-
ing the guests, the bride's mother
wore a cocoa brown lace dress
with matching accessories and cor-
sage of yellow carnations. The
groom's mother assisted, wearing
a light green brocaded satin dress
with beige and black accessories
and a corsage of pink carnations,
Following a Wedding trip to
points in Southern Ontario and the
United States, the couple will re-
side in Clinton.. For travelling, the
bride donned a green wool dress
with brown coat and matching- ac-
cessories, and a corsage of yellow
roses and white mums.
News From Grey
The December meeting of the
Cranbrook Institute was held in
the Cranbrook Community Centre
Tuesday, with Miss ,ena Noble
and Mrs. Ken McDonald the hos-
tesses. The member's each' brought
a wrapped gift and exchanged it
at this meeting.
Mrs. Glen Huether was in charge
of the topic. She based her talk
on "What Christmas Means To
Me." He is happiest,_,whq.,finds
peace in his own home, was the
motto Mrs. Leslie Lake gave. Mrs.
Eldon Wilson gave a very inter-
esting demonstration on Christmas!
decorations.
The 4-H girls were presented
with spoons for the completion of
the Club Girl Entertains. Nine
girls in all received spoons. Mrs.
Leslie Lake and Mrs, James Brem-
mer assisted the hosltesses with
lunch. .
The Third Meal Course conclud-
ed in the Cranbrook Community
Centre Friday evening,. with a pot-
luck supper. Many different cas-
serole dishes were sampled by the
members and their families. The
evening was spent in playing cards.
The high lady was Isabela Huether
and the high man, Earl Dunn.
Cranbrook, Evening Auxiliary
Mrs. Ken McDonald was the
hostess for the December meeting
of the Evening Auxiliary. The elec-
tion of officers was held at this
meeting with the following being
elected: Past president, Mrs. Ken
McDonald; president, Mrs. Gor-
don Engel; vice-president, Mrs.
James Knight; past secretary,
Mrs. Ross Knight; secretary, Mrs.
Grace Evans; past treasurer, Mina
Baker; treasurer, Mrs. Frank
Smith.
Mrs. Frank Smith was the lead°
er for the meeting. The roll call
was -answered with a Christmas
verse. Mrs. Stuart Stevenson read
a very interesting topic. Christ-
mas gifts were exchanged at this
meeting.

Mr. Robert Manson, Who has
spent a few weeks at Midland
with his aunt and uncle, has re-
turned home.
Mr, Archie Mustard, of Sarnia,
spent the weekend in Blake.
The final meeting of the year
will be held in the Town Hall,
Seaforth, on'Thursday, Dec, 15, at
1 p.m. •
