The family and friends of Mr.
and Mrs. Herb Trapnell gathered
Saturday to honor the couple. Mr.
and Mrs. Trapnell celebrated their
44th wedding anniversary Thurs-
day, October 6. The couple receiv-
ed TV tables from their family.
The family consists of a son,
William, Seaforth, and a daughter,
Peggy, Mrs. John Dick, Centre-
line, Michigan.

of RR 1, Dublin, celebrated their
25th wedding anniversary Satur-
day, Oct. 8. A Mass of Thanks-
giving was held in St. Patrick's
Church, Dublin, Saturday morn-
ing. In the evening, neighbors and
relatives gathered at their home
and presented them with a silver
tea service.
Mr. and Mrs. Van Bakel have a
family of six sons and three daugh-
ters: Catherine, Josephine, Wil-
hemenia, Martin, John, Hank,
Anthony and Casey,
Married 45 Years
• Mr. and Mrs, William Flanagan
celebrated their 45th wedding an-
niversary on Saturday, Oct. 8. A
High Mass of Thanksgiving was
held in St. Patrick's Church, Dub-
lin, when they renewed their vows.
A dinner was held for the members
of their respective families at
Mitchell.
Mrs.. Flanagan was the former
Catherine Burns. Mrs. Charles
Strub, of Kitchener, who was the
bridesmaid, and Mr. Dan Flana-
gan, of Stratford, who was the
best man, also attended the event.
In the evening a family gather-
ing was held at their home north
of Dublin, when the family pre-
sented them with a bedroom suite.
Mr. and Mrs. Flanagan have
three sons: William R. and Lorne,
of- RR 1, Dublin; Tom, of St.
'Agatha; three daughters: Mrs. J.
P. (Helen) Krauskopf, Mrs. Louis
(Bernice) Looby, Dublin, and Miss
Margaret Flanagan; Kitchener.

Marks both Anniversary
An impressive ceremony cele-
brating the Diamond Jubilee of St.
Patrick's Church, Dublin, was held
on Thanksgiving Day. A Solemn
Requiem Mass for all the deceas-
,ed members of the parish was of-
fered at 9 a.m., with Rev. R. Dur-
and as celebrant, assisted by Rev.
J. B. Ffoulkes and Rev. A. R.
Looby, C.S.B., Ottawa.
At 4 p.m. a Pontifical Mass of
Thanksgiving was held ` with Rt.
Rev. A. C. Mahoney, London, as
celebrant; Rev. H. T. Feeney,
C.R., Kitchener, as Deacon, and
Rev. A. R. Looby, C.S.B., Ottawa,
as Sub -Deacon.
The first pastor of St. Patrick's
parish was Rev. Wm. Fogarty,
who died in 1901.
The guest speaker was Rt. Rev.
J. A. Feeney, London, who review-
ed the history of St. Patrick's
Church, paying a special tribute to
one of the first pastors, Rev. Thos.
Noonan, also the succeeding parish
priests, the outstanding influence
of the Ursuline Sisters, and the
pioneers of the community. •
He said that "it was the com-
munity "spirit of the pioneers that
built the church. They lived in the
day of the building bee, and even
the stones for the foundationing
came from nearby fields.
The following pastors during 60
years were: Rev. Wm. Fogarty,
Rev. Thomas Noonan, Rev. F.
White, Rev. F. O'Drowski, Rev.
Dr. 'Ffoulkes, who retired in 1959.
The present pastor is Rev. R., Dur-

The following priests celebrated
their first Solemn Masses at var-

C.P., who is Superior General of
the Paulist Order; Rev, John F.

Following the Pontifical Mass,
the new Separate School, was on-
secrated by Rt. Rev. A. C. Ma-
honey, Vicar General of the Dio-
cese, assisted by approximately 40
clergy present. A turkey dinner
was served in the parish hall by
the executive officers of the CWL
and the Altar Society.
A small group of senior citizens
were guests with the priests, and
the oldest parishioner, Mr. Patrick
O'Rourke, was requested to cut
the jubilee cake. A former par-
ishioner, . John Kenny, rang the
bell before Mass as he had tolled
it for the first time for the funeral
of Father Fogarty in 1901.
A social evening was, held in
the hall later. The reWerds°-lor
high scores at progressive euchre
were won by M. J. Nagle and Mrs.
William Manley. Other prizes were
given to John Kenny, Mrs. Cath-
erine Krauskopf, Mrs. Dan Cos-
tello, John E. Murray and Mr. and
Mrs. William Manley. Sandwiches
and the jubilee cake were served.
Clergy who attended the jubilee

Monsignor Roney, Monsignor Bour-
deau, Monsignor Morrison, Mon-
signor J. A. Feeney, Rev. A. R.

day,, 'October 1, when Veronica
Josephine Jordan, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Francis Jordan, Seaforth,
exchanged marriage vows with
Kenneth Harvey Vincent, son of
Mrs. Mary Vincent, Dublin. Rev.
Father C. E, Sullivan officiated at
the double ring ceremony. Louis
and Donald Krauskopf, nephews of
the bride, served the' Wedding
Mass. Mrs. Alice Stiles played
the wedding music and. accompan-
ied -the soloist, Mrs. Mel Acheson.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, was lovely in a floor -
length gown of peau-de-soie, ac-
cented by a full-length front panel
of guipure lace. The fitted bodice
was fashioned with long lily -point
sleeves and a scalloped scoop
neckline. • A . brushtrain graced a
full bouffant skidt. A scalloped
tiara of sequins and pearls held
a double French illusion veil, and
she carried a crescent of peach
mums outlined in illusion net. • .
Miss Barbara Jordan, Seaforth,
as maid of honor, and Mrs. James
Krauskopf, Dublin, as brides-
maid, both sisters of the bride,
wore identical cocktail length
gowns of royal blue velvet,. match-
ing feather headpieces, and car-

Miss Cheryl McGrath, niece of
the groom, was flower . girl in a
frock of peach colored crisp nylon
with an imported white lace over-
dress, a matching bon headpiece
and a cascade of white baby mums.
Groomsman was Peter J. Jor-
dan, Dublin, brother of the bride,
and guests were ushered•by James
J. Krauskopf and Patrick Mc-
Grath.
The wedding breakfast was serv-
ed at the Colonial Hotel in Grand
Bend, followed by a reception at
the Brodhagen Community Hall.
The bride's mother received
wearing a dress of printed magic
crepe in shades of green and
mauve with green accessories and
a corsage of Talisman roses.' The
groom's- mother assisted, wearing
a king's robe blue dress with
matching accessories, and a cor-
sage of pink roses.
For travelling to New York
City, the bride donned a brown
wool sheath with beige accessor-
ies, muskrat jacket and a corsage
of bronze mums. Mr. and Mrs.
Vincent will reside in Seaforth on
their return.
Guests were present from De-
troit, Sarnia, Brockville, Fort
William, North Bay, London, Cleve=
land, Brantford and Dorchester.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank. Varley and
infant son, of Hensall, visited Tues-
day with the former's grandmoth-
er, Mrs. R. Dalrymple.
We are pleased to see that Miss
Thelma Forbes is able to return
home from the London Hospital,
where she has been during the
past three weeks.
