KITTY' NOTES
From the Seaforth Lawn Bowling
Club
(Short, Sweet and to the Point)
(Contributed by Bowler)
- Due to lack of news and constant
pressure of other activities, your
reporter missed two issues of the
local press and to' all club mem-
bers we offer our humblest apolo-
gies.
One of our roving reporters—of
which we have two—informs Lis
that Doc MacLennan's Tuesday
night Pot -of -Gold .event is going
along very nicely and rumor has
it that Doc has something special
up his sleeve for the month of
September for both the men and
ladies! Seems as how the fairer
sex saw the light and got hold of
Doc to dream up something to in-
clude them.
Seaforth was well represented at
the Monday tournament at Gode-
rich for the Hunt trophy, Second
prize went to Lorne Dale and Jack
Muir.
Others attending from Seaforth
were Fred E. Willis, Don Dale,
Harold Connell, Bob Doig, James
MacDonald and George Hays.
On Thursday last two rinks from
our club journeyed to Clinton and
entered • the Merchants' and Manu-
facturers' tournament and at Iong
last came home with two prizes.
Glamorous Frank Sills and Ken
Willis came seventh, and Lorne
Dale and J. MacDonald came
ninth.
Last evening's event held at the
local greens was not too well at-
tended owing' to the Lidris -Carnival,
but a few rinks did take part and
Helen Connell • and Marie Muir
took top honors in the ladies' divi-
sion,' and• Don Dale and Jack Muir
took top money in the men's ev-
ent, with Don Dale getting the
highest score recorded in club ev-
ents for quite some time.
Your correspondent will be on
vacation for the next threeissues
of the press, but we have arrang-
ed with Ken -Willis 'to write up the
club activities, so don't let Ken
down by keeping club news to
yourself. See you in three weeks,
by which time we should be well
rested and have more time to de-
vote to your column and partici-
pate in club activities. GUS.
