The guest of honor, Miss Eliza-
beth MCGavin, was ushered to the
place of honor on the platform with
her mother, Mrs. Gordon McGav-
in, and the groom -to -he's mother,
Mrs. Earl Dinsmore, of Seaforth.
Mrs. Andrew Coutts addressed the
bride-to-be, to which Miss McGav-
in replied, thanking the ladies for
the gifts and all who made the
shower such a success.
Assisting in opening the gifts
were Misses Lois Anne Somerville,
Donna Willows, Muriel Schade and
Faye Love. A delicious lunch was
served by the ladies of the Mc-
Killop Group.
Rev% and Mrs. W. M. Thomas
left Wednesday for Ottawa to visit
with their son and daughter -in-
law, Mr. and Mrs. Ian Thomas,
for several weeks.
Mrs. Mary Reid has returned to
Toronto after visiting Mr. and Mrs.
John Shannon and other friends in
the district.

amount of surgery, obsterical and
emergency work, and other de-
tails such as area growth. From
this information it will be possible
to determine the ngmber of beds
required, and how they should be
divided as to types, as well as
determine the facilities required
and their extent. The survey is
expected to suggest a trend in re-
quirements, making possible re-
commendations covering a long-
term plan.
The site at the eastern limits of
Seaforth on No. 8 Highway was
inspected by the group. Both Dr.
Agnew and Mr. Reider indicated
how well suited the site was for
hospital purposes. The studies now
being undertaken will include a re-
view of the site to determine the
location and style of building' best
adapted to it.
Meanwhile 'the , boardis giving
consideration to the financial im-
plications of the 'new building. In
announcing plans for the new hos-
pital some months' ago, it was in-
dicated that while a site had been
obtained 'and plans would be pre-
pared, actual construction could
not be proceeded with until nec-
essary funds were assured.

As a special wish of their mother
the annual Williamson picnic was
held at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Norman Williamson on Sunday,
August 9. Sports were held in the
afternoon with Miss Mona Clarke
and Miss Eileen Williamson in
charge.

before the picnic supper in mem-
ory of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wil-
liamson, who passed away in April
and July of this year.

tended the third annual CNIB pic-
nic at Harbor Park, Goderich, last
Wednesday.
Miss Amy Lammle, home teach-

ties of the afternoon.
Ed. Wheeler, field secretary, and

Community Honors Bride -To -Be
Friends and neighbors assemb-
led in the basement of the United
Church, Constance, Monday even-
ing to honor' a bride-to-be, Miss
Laurel Dale, eldest daughter of
Mr. and Mrs.° William Dale, prior
to her marriage to Mr. Don Glou-
sher, on August 20. The bride -elect
was seated in a decorated chair
with her mother, Mrs. Wm. Dale,
and mother of the groom, Mrs.
Herb Glousher.
Miss Muriel Dale acted as mas-
ter of ceremonies and conducted
two contests. Miss Judy Thomp-
son and Miss Mary Mclllwain sang
a duet, accompanied by Mrs. Ken
Thompson. At an opportune time
Mrs. W. L. Whyte read an ad-
dress and gifts were Carried in
by Misses Kathy and Cheryl Dale,
sisters of the bride, and were op-
ened by the bride and passed,
around and displayed, Among the
