(By JACK HOLLAND) Well, Comrades and' 'Friends, here we are back again after a few weeks' absence. I have a few things to report to you, so we'll get started right away. The Salvation Army drive, spon- sored by our. local Legion, was quite successful, when over $300,00 was realized. On behalf of the Le- gion, I wish to thank -ail who help- ed this most worthwhile organiza- tion—the good old Sally Ann. It's one group where race, creed or color doesn't matter, and I'm sure that all service personnel have fond memories of the Salvation Army. Our special events officer, Char- lie •Wood, has a weekly bingo ev- ery Saturday night, and each week the crowd is growinglarger, so you bingo fans have your Satur- day evening entertainment assur-- ed for some time to come. There is real big news too! In two week's time the Legion is hav- ing a draw for a $1,000.00 bill, and since the draw is on July 1, at a dance in the Legion Hall, everyone must make sure that they have their tickets before then. We had our annual Decoration Day parade last Sunday. This, be- sides a Cenotaph service, is the day when all comrades' graves in our local cemeteries are visited by members of your local Legion Branch. This witids it up for now, so we'll close with a thought for our fallen comrades: "At the going down of the sun and inthe morning, we shall remember them." Are you going to be $1,000.00 richer by July 2? ANNOUNCEMENT Mr. and Mrs. Robert A.
