Miss Beatrice Murray, daughter

R.R. 1, Dublin, and a- teacher of
grade three at Brantford St. Bas-
il's Schb T, is the third Separate
School staff member in that city
to be requested for overseas duty
in Europe next September by Can-
ada Defence Department. She will
be a teacher, in a school attended
by the . children of the armed
forces.
The monthly meeting of the
Parish Guild of St. Mary's Angli-
can Church was held at the home
of Mrs. Douglas Racho. Mrs. Chas.
Friend, president, presided. Mrs.
William Govier read the Scripture,
followed by prayer.

ing their 40th. wedding annivers-

and Mrs. Lorne Aikens conducted
the meeting.
Scripture was read by Mrs. Ross
Pepper and comments by Mrs. Wil-
fred Annis. Mrs. Earl Barker's
reading was, "One Single Event."
Mrs. Morley Lannin contributed a
poem, and Mrs. Aikens offered
prayer.. A quilt was completed and
lunch served by the hostess.

The .death occurred in Detroit Olt
Wednqeaday, April 13, after a three
day i.Uness• of Patrick James Burns,
formerly of Dublin, in his 60th
year. Son, of the late. Mr. and Mrs.
Tom Burns, he had been a resident
Of. Detroit for about 30 years.
Married to the former Mae Crow-
ley, of Kinkora; he is survived by
his widow; two daughters and' one
son: Virginia, Mrs. B. Grubba;
Janet, Mrs. • J. Dunn, and Tom;
two sisters, Mrs. William Flana-
gan, of R.R. 1, Dublin; Mrs. Chas.
Strub, Kitchener; John Burns, of
Seaforth. He was predeceased by
