Provincial Police Constable Ce- cil Gibbons, Exeter, said Mr. Car- rick will not `: ppear in court on the charge until after the inquest into the fatality, scheduled for 2 p.m. Feb. 8, at Zurich village hall. Adair and Mary Edythe Broad - foot exchanged wedding veers. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Adair, Seaforth, and the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.. John Broadfoot, R:R. No. 1,' 'Brucefield. Rev. 3. Clifford Brit- ton officiated: The bride looked lovely .in a white chiffon street -length dress, bouffant chiffon skirt over taffeta, V-neck at the back and a bow with, two streamers at the front. Her fingertip veil was held in place by a pearl headdress, and she wore a red carnation corsage. Miss Jean Broadfoot, R.R. No. 1, Brucefield, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, wearing a red vel- vet street -length dress, wide neck- line, princess style with a bouffant skirt. She wore white accessories and a white carnation corsage. Mr. Lloyd Adair;- -Molesworth, was his brother's groomsman. A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. The bride donned a blue and grey wool dress, white accessories and a silver grey .borg for their wedding trip. The couple will reside in Mitchell. MOORE—CARTER A pretty wedding took place in First Presbyterian Church, Sea - forth, on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 2:30 o'clock, when Margaret Ag- nes Carter, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Carter. of Jarvis St., Seaforth, exchanged marriage vows with Richard Samuel Moore, R.R. 1, Sebringville, son of Mr. and Mrs• Alma Moore, R.R. 1, Sebringville. The church was beau- tifully decorated with flowers and bows. Rev. D. L. Elder officiated, and H. A. Kempster played the organ. Miss Betty Muegge, Sea - forth, was soloist. _ The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor -length gown of jacquered taffeta with full pleated back, and • a bolera-type jacket with lilypoint ,sleeves and, a standup collar,. She carried a boa- g?iet..,of . red roses. • Miss Marlene Carter, sister of the bride, was maid Of honor, wear- ing 'a blue jacqueredtaffeta dress, similar to the bride's, in street - length. She .carried a bouquet of yellow mums. Miss Emily Carter, sister of the bride, and Miss- Alice Moore, sis- ter of the groom, were bridesmaids. They wore dresses similar to that of the . matron of honor, and Car- ried bouquets of yellow baby. mums. Miss Marilyn Moore,:•.cou- sin of the groom, was flower -girl, wearing -a gold dress- and carrying blue 'mums. Kenneth Dalton, cou- sin of the bride, was ringbearer and Wore a• navy blue blazer and grey trousers. - The groomsman was Lawrence Smith, of Stratford; cousin of the groom. Ushers were Melvin Hub- ert, of Seaforth, and Lloyd Fetz, of Mitchell. A delicious wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride's parents, with the house decorated in blue and white. The bride's mother received the guests wearing a navy dress with white collar and white accessor- ies, and a red corsage. The groom's mother wore a blue, figured dtess with pink accessories and a cor- sage. Assisting them .were Miss Davina Hubert and Miss Ellen Gor- will, both of Seaforth. The bride chose for _Tier going - away costume a blue wool suit with white accessories and a cor- sage of red roses. The° couple will. reside at R.R. 1. Sebringville. Guests_ at the wedding were pres- ent from Niagara Fall's, Stratford, Sebringville, Walton, Londesboro and Seaforth. Logan Council Logan council held its regular meeting on Monday with all mem- bers present except Councillor Hill, and with Reeve Krauskopf presid- ing. REVIEWS • SUCCESSFUL YEAR The annual congregational ineett Eng of Duff's United Church was held on Tuesday evening with a good attendance. The meeting was opened with a 'hythn, with Mrs. Harvey Brown at the piano. "The Hymn of Love," written by J. B. Phillips, was read by Rev. W M. Thomas, followed by. prayer. Mrs. Harvey V. Craig was appointed secretary for' the evening and read, the minutes of the last annual meeting. Rev. Thomas expressed appreci- ation ,from the session to all lead- ers in the church during the year and of. the very fine spirit pre- vailing. He spoke of the church as being a centre of fellowship and love and quoted, "That is what it is and we .would like to keep 'it that way." There • are • 274 resident mem- bers and 34 non-resident. Thirteen joined by Faith; there were 10 re- movals, five burials,seven bap- tisms and three weddings. A pray- er for the. departed members was offered by the minister. The insurance . policy of the, church was referred to the trus- tees to be looked into. As each. report was adopted, a number was given; Brenda and Mary Bewley, a duet, accompanied by Carol Wail bee for the Mission Band; Baby Band, Carolyn, Dianne and Clay- ton Fraser, a trio, • accompanied by Mrs. H. Travis; Young People's Union, Barbara and Marian Turn- bull, a duet, accompanied by Mrs. Wilber Turnbull. The Women's Association was complimented on their splendid work for thc year. For the Sunday School, Lipa Bryans and Mary Helen Buchanan sang a duet, with Pauline Thamer accompanying; C. G. I. T., Ruth Ritchie gave an account of the year's activities; Mary Lou Kirkby and Anne Achil rtes, a !duet, with Mrs. 'f1. Travis at the piano; Choir, Mrs. H. Tra- vis and Don McDonald, a duet, accompanied by Mrs. H. Brown. Two new stewards were appoint- ed, namely, Don McDonald and James Smith, with W. J. Leeming and H. Craig being f,re-elected. • CampbelI''Wey was appointed re- presentative for the Presbytery Men's Club. Rev. Thomas- moved a vote of thanks to all the departments of the church, also the caretaker and all who helped make the year such a success. John Leeming also moved a vote of thanks to Rev. and Mrs. Thomas for their fine services rendered. Rev. Thomas closed the meeting with ' prayer. "Meat in the Menu" will be the next project for the 4-H Club girls, with Mrs. Jim McDenald•• and Mrs. Nelson Reid as leaders. Leaders of "Clothes Closets TJp To Date," Mrs,.. Nelson Reid and Mrs. Jim McDonald, described the work done by the 4-H Club girls, who had their exhibits on display. These exhibits were previously shown at Brussels on Achievement Day. The commentary' Was given by .Geraldine Dennis. A very interesting report was given by Mrs. F. Walters on the area convention at Guelph. Host- esses for the evening were: Mrs. James Nolan. Mrs, Glen Corlett Mrs, -H. Craig, Mrs, F. Walters and Mrs. George McArthur. Mrs. George Plewitt, of Tucker - smith, was a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Broadfoot for a few -,days last week. Mr. and Mrs. J. FUNERALS MRS. -JESSE WHEELER Mrs. Jesse Wheeler, 67, of Bel - grave, died Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Loddon, after a lengthy illness. WttLIS The sudden death occurred in Barrington, Rhode Island, on Wed- "tiesday, January 27;,- of Mavis Doreen Phyllis Parker, wife of Robert 0. Willis, An infant daugh- ter, Sherry Willson Willis, passed away two days later. Mrs. Willis was born in Ottawa June 12, 1920, the, daughter of.Col. and Mrs. G. M2 Parker. She was educated in Ottawa and for sev- eral years was on the staff of Trans -Canada Airlines at various. centres across Canada and in the United States, Following their marriage May 3, 1952, Mr. and Mrs. Willis resid- ed in Cuyahoga Falls', Ohiol.where Mr. Willis was with the Firestone Rubber Co. Two years ago they moved to' Barrington, Rhode Is- land, when Mr. Willis was appoint- ed assistant sales manager of -the company. In both communities Mrs. Willis was active in the work of the church and in other organ- izations. Mrs. Willis is survived by her husband; one son, Robert Parker Willis, and by her parents. She is also survived by two sisters, Constance, Mrs. G. E. R. Smith, 'Oakville, and Morley; Mrs, Craig, of .Switzerland. A memorial service was con- ducted by her minister, Rev.
