Canada Time goes by fast The humidity is finally diminishing, some of the leaves are trans- forming into picturesque col- ours because like the year before... with the speed of snapping your fingers, sum- mer has come and gone. For all individuals over 25 or per- haps a more accurate depic- tion, for all those with responsibilities, time flies. As temperatures change from hot to cold in the ever revolving door of existence, people in your life go through modifications of their own as well. In a flash, best friends turn to acquaintances, grandpar- ents pass away, uncles with full sets of hair turn bald and the innocent baby girl you call your daughter starts her first day of junior kindergarten. As I write this a tear trickles down my face. I look at my baby girl Gavriella with her beautiful dirty blond hair (a mirror image of her mother) and think to myself, where Column Shaun Gregory did my baby go? Wasn't it just yesterday that we were bringing you home from the hospital? I don't know if you've ever heard the song by Lukas Gra- ham called "Seven Years.» It's honestly been on the radio for 12 months straight and the lyrics of the song depict every morsel of the feelings I'm going through to a tee. The first verse of the chorus goes: "Once I was seven years old, my mama told me, "Go make yourself some friends or you'll be lonely." Once I was seven years old." Terry Fox Run The non-competitive event known as the Terry Fox Run took place in more than 9,000 commu- nities September 18. Seaforth has been following the charity under- taking for decades. Marty Bedard, the Fire Chief for Huron East has been in charge of the event since Second verse: "Once I was twenty years old, my story got told, Before the morning sun, when life was lonely Once I was twenty years old." Third verse: "Soon I'll be sixty years old, will I think the world is cold Or will I have a lot of chil- dren who can warm me? Soon I'll be sixty years old. Just as the Danish pop star's music fills my head- phones with the sweet mel- ody of the truth, we as earth- lings need to come to grips with the fact that soon we'll be aged. The life form you saw on the black and white ultrasound image that was the size of a lemon will sprout into a fully functioning and capable adult. It's such a harsh reality. Right now it's grade school, next thing you know that child is graduating from post -secondary and the list of life's events that will inevitably follow. You can view these 1985. He's currently looking for someone to take over the respon- sibility. "I have been doing it for that long and I am ready to retire, circumstances as a tragedy or you can embrace the constant change. To allevi- ate this stress, take pictures until your thumb gets tired from pressing the button on your cell phone. Build a scrapbook to maintain your memories, write things down. I guess that's why I had three more children after our eldest. The crying of four children under four may make hot steam blow from my ears at various times throughout the day, but on the other hand I need to look at the bigger picture. Soon enough, my woman and I will be in our house by ourselves. Those stinky diapers, bottles of milk (bubbas) and Terrible Two temper tantrums will just be a memory. Signing out from the Expositor office on this amazing last Friday of the summer, Shaun AKA in 20 years I will be saying once I had four babies and now they're all grown up. I think someone else could make it so much better," he said. There were 47 participants and the event raised $1,781. Here is a photo of the Crowley's last Sunday. They walked for Frank Crowley who passed away.
