With overcasts on Sep- tember 10, still nearly 70 golfers toughed out the not -so sunny weather and played 18 holes. Carolanne Doig, also known as C.A. for short said she could not believe the golfers were done at 4 p.m. "We used to wait if the golfers were going to fin- ish by dark," stated Doig to the participants after their dinner in the clubhouse. Out of the large turnout of golfers, the most nota- ble were the four from Bermuda. Doig added that this has been a tradition for the last four decades. As well about eight golfers from Ottawa Ont. com- peted in the contest. The prizes and winner's trophies were stationed waiting for the victors to claim. Doig said the awards and plaques are the same from when they first started the tourna- ments several years back. "Over the years, we have never retired the trophies, we always build a new base on them, she said. "Even- tually they are going to be taller than the Stanley Cup:' "It's kind of fun to see the names on there of people that are no longer with us." ,sem .►-•1' iIjj'1, ...................................................... . rTHE HURON EXPOSITOR'S i 2016 Summer e Sports Edition WILL SOON BE PUBLISHED WE NEED YOUR TEAM PHOTO!
