Where are these new out-of- town hockey players going to live? Currently one of the three own- ers of the Seaforth Generals, T.J. Runhart is in need of several billet families. As he has said before, all the boys require is a clean wel- coming home, their own room with a bed and good mattress and a desk/workspace for homework. Since the boys will be driving on a bus to home games, Runhart hinted that if Seaforth families are interested they only need a room available, nothing else will be necessary. "People that stay in Seaforth can walk to the rink or myself or other staff will pick them up for practice and games," explained Runhart Seaforth OPTIMIST Presents August 31. "We are looking for four to six families that are willing to open their doors to a young man, who is going to do his part." "A big part of the Billet Program is they help around the house. If Mrs. Smith calls me and says Joey isn't helping out then we are going to have a sit down with him." Out of the 17 already signed three or four hockey players don't need a place to rest their head. If all goes as planned, a couple future signings could possibly be in the mix for the Generals. Run - hart said that may lead to a more urgent need for billets. "These kids are here as a privi- lege, they are not here because they earned it, they are here to work at what they do and that's playing hockey. But they are also here to build themselves as human beings," stated Runhart. "Nobody is here because they are the next Wayne Gretzlcy and they don't have to do anything." At the moment, Runhart and the Generals are looking for rental AND garih brooks Tickets available @ Blooms Pete "i SEAFORT AGRIPL` 140 DUKE STR SEPT 23rd, 2016 DOORS OPEN AT 7:30 P M INTERNATIONAL Sandy McGlynn 519-998-9798 Deb Janmaat 519-522-1858 Tributahow stprls a18,30pm properties in the area. The Seaforth team has a one year contract with the Cheyenne Stampedes, an organization from the Western States Hockey League. Runhart said it's essential to find homes for his latest addi- tions, as he will find himself hav- ing to house call-ups from the WSHL. For this reason he will be leaving some space open on the roster's limit of 25 players. "They can send who ever they want to see progress and develop and maybe use as an affiliated player," said Runhart. "We are hoping this could lead to some- thing bigger and better as years go by." "You've got a small stepping stone to start, same as the billets, this year we got a few billets. Next year we could get a lot more and by the third year we might have to turn billets away, you never know." 777-71/7"7-7.g YOUR ROADMAP TO ALL THINGS AUTO l J NEWS / *** REVIEWS / COMPARISONS/ RETIREMENT AND WELCOME RECEPTION The Clinton Family Health Team Clinton Physicians Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance Clinton Public Hospital Foundation The Community of Central Huron Help us say thank you to Dr. Maarten Bokhout And welcome to Dr. Kyle Armstrong Join us at the reception on September 13, 2016 5:00 - 7:00 pm Central Huron Community Complex Libro Community Hall
