OPP stumped with deceased male

The OPP have been work-
ing diligently, giving several
updates to the community
revolving around a dead body
that was found last Saturday,
just north of Port Albert.
This investigation has con-
tinued and is entering the
fifth day since they found a
male who is described by
police as having a medium
size build, somewhere in the
height of 5'8" to 5'10" and
from previous reports it>s
believed he is balding with a
thin moustache.
Yet there is still no name to
place with the deceased.
Found on the beach Octo-
ber 15, on the shores of Lake
Huron wearing a blue life
jacket and a PEP logo on his
trainer pants, the police are
asking the community to come
forth with any information.
"Investigators would like
to speak with anyone that
may have recently found an
abandoned vessel or related
marine/sporting equipment
along the Lake Huron shore-
line," stated a press release
by the OPP.
The public are urged to
contact the authorities if
they stumble across kayaks,
canoes, fishing boats, sail-
boats, kiteboards, paddle -
boards, personal watercraft,
inflatable rafts, dinghies or
other marine related items.
According to the Huron
County OPP Crime Unit and
the OPP Forensic Identifica-
tion Services (FIS), who
attended the scene to assist
with the death investigation,
through a post-mortem
examination, foul play was
ruled out. Please notify the

Driving with
80 milligrams
of alcohol in
his system
(HURON EAST, Ont.) —A
60 -year-old male from Mitch-
ell is facing charges follow-
ing a traffic stop that took
place yesterday morning in
Huron County. At 10:40 a.m.
Huron County Ontario Pro-
vincial Police (OPP) received
information about a possible
impaired driver. Upon receiv-
ing the information officers
began patrolling for the sus-
pect vehicle, a grey 4 -door Nis-
san sedan. Approximately five
minutes later officers located
the suspect vehicle travel-
ling eastbound out of Clinton.
Officers followed the vehicle
a short distance whereupon
they initiated a traffic stop to
assess the condition of the
driver. Upon speaking with the
driver the investigating officer
noted the driver had been
drinking alcohol. A roadside
screening test was performed
which resulted in the driver
registering a fail. He was then
placed under arrest for Driving
a Motor Vehicle - Over 80 Mil-
ligrams of Alcohol. A search
was then conducted which
resulted in officers locating
open alcohol inside the vehicle.
The driver was then trans-
ported to the Huron OPP
Detachment for breath tests.
He subsequently provided
two samples of his breath to
a qualified Intoxilizer Techni-
cian and both of his samples
registered over the legal limit.
As a result, a 60 -year-old from
Mitchell has been charged with
Drive Motor Vehicle — Over
80 Milligrams of Alcohol and
Drive Motor Vehicle with Open
Container of Alcohol. He was
released from custody with
a court appearance sched-
uled for November 7, 2016 at
the Ontario Court of Justice
— Goderich. He also received
an automatic 90 -day driver's
licence suspension and the
vehicle he was driving has now
been impounded for the week.
Theft of more than
$60,000 worth
of property
(HURON EAST, Ont.) — Investi-
gators from the Huron County
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)
Property Crimes Unit are seek-
ing tips in an effort to solve
a break, enter and theft that
occurred over the week-
end in Huron East. A dol-
lar value for the total amount
of property stolen is esti-
mated to be around $60,000.
On Saturday, October
15th sometime between 2:00
p.m. and 5:00 p.m. those
responsible attended a rural
property located on Cran-
brook Road southeast of Brus-
sels. Once on the property
the thieves proceeded to force
their way into the large drive
shed through a locked man
door. Once inside the drive
shed they proceeded to load
up a truck and trailer with
all kinds of stolen property
and three off-road vehicles.
The following off-road vehi-
cles, valued at a total of
$40,000 were stolen:
A yellow 2011 Can -Am Out-
lander Max XT 800, 4 -wheel
drive All -Terrain Vehicle
A white, 2016 Bobcat, 3400
diesel, side-by-side Util-
ity Terrain Vehicle (UTV)
A red, 2007 Honda TRX
500cc, 4 -wheel drive All -
Terrain Vehicle (ATV)

The thieves also stole an
approximate $20,000 worth
of Milwaukee & John Deere
brand power tools, a large
John Deere toolbox, a Cobalt
toolbox and two other tool
boxes that contained vari-
ous hand tools and sockets.

WAWANOSH, ON) — Investi-
gators from the Huron County
Ontario Provincial Police
(OPP) Crime Unit continue
to seek the public's assis-
tance in determining the
identity of a deceased male
that was found this past Sat-
urday located on a beach
just north of Port Albert.
This investigation, now in its
fifth day, has yet to deter-
mine the identity of this man.
Investigators would like to
speak with anyone that may
have recently found an aban-
doned vessel or related marine/
sporting equipment along
the Lake Huron shoreline.
Any findings of vessels, includ-
ing, but not limited to: kay-
aks, canoes, fishing boats,
sailboats, kiteboards, pad-
dleboards, personal water-
craft, inflatable rafts, dinghies
and marine related items
should be reported to police.
The exact amount of time
this male had been in the
water prior to his death is not
known; however any find-
ings over the last month
should be reported to police.
