Clinton, Ontario Sep- tember 28, 2016: Central Huron Pickleball Club league will play Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Central Huron Secondary School in Clin- ton. The season will run from early October to the end of April 2017. The game of pickleball is fun, easy to play and the club is open to high school students, sen- iors and all ages in between. Only equipment required is non -marking indoor shoes as the club provides balls and has some paddles for use. The cost to play is $5.00 per evening or a yearly membership of $50.00. "We had a very successful season last winter with fifty- three members playing at least once" said David Townsend coordinator of the FOR MOVE I (FORMATION.,. www.mawvelinks. utlYa .,dir71-000-105-34311 1 ATTENTION READERS Take adv anlage of our pricing for HAPPY NOTES !dudes: J1irlhdays l Ilii ersltries Weddings, Engagements, Graduations etc. 11,4PPY tURI'#Hf :4Y 1.1 1 r..hinrne PersoIL Mole) Ltivi Alum ]laid J Acti.6I Size: Pre -Payment is Reiwred usl biiii in yya.u'Mb & wrie-up EWA x 11 tki OE. iesl. oh.3r 817w Pnrs*trailuo a upon requa • 0L4 \ $23.80 plus E xIxs1To Ties Thum I 8 Main Street Seaforth, ON (519) 527-0240 nancy.degans@sunmedia.ca seaforthhuronexpositor.com Central Huron Pickleball Club. "Last season the club accomplished a lot from purchasing new nets, run- ning a club tournament, and vastly improving our overall pickleball skills compared to our first season" declared Townsend. When asked why he keeps playing Townsend replied "it is a great social game, you get a great work out, it's competitive and we have lots of laughs': When asked of the clubs goals this year Townsend responded "We are one of the few clubs that plays at night and we really would like to fill the all the four courts every night by increasing our member- ship in all age groups but especially the younger mem- bers." Townsend stated the game of pickleball has changed from a game for seniors and snowbirds, to a game for everyone and every skill level. The club would like to thank CHSS for painting proper non -volley lines on the courts as it greatly improved the game. Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in Ontario. It is a combination of tennis, badminton and table tennis. The game is played on a bad- minton size court with a whiffle ball, about the size of a tennis ball; and a solid smooth surface, short han- dled paddle larger than a ping pong paddle. The game is easy to learn and you do not have to be a great athlete to play. Pickleball is a great way to get active, keep active, and have fun at the same time. It has great aerobics value. If you are interested in playing come out Tuesday nights or contact the club by e-mail at chpickleball@ gmail.com or call David Townsend at 519-482-3718.
