Radars forfeit three games as penalty
for Aikin's failure to serve suspension
Justine Alkema
On Monday, November
14, the Clinton Radars
posted a letter from the
Western Ontario Athletic
Association on their social
media accounts titled
"Ineligible player Jamie
Aikin'!
This letter stated that it
had come to the Associa-
tion's attention that the
Radars had Aikin play on
their team without him
having served his one game
suspension which carried
over from his previous sea-
son on the Seaforth
Centenaires.
These games include the
Radars' October 7 game
versus the Petrolia Squires,
their October 14 game ver-
sus the Milverton 4 Wheel
Drives and their October 22
game versus the Lucknow
Lancers. The Radars ini-
tially won all of these
games.
However as a result of
Aikin's failure to serve his
suspension, the Radars must
now face a number of penal-
ties according to the rules
and regulations of the
Association.
The first is that for the

three games mentioned
above, the opposing teams
will be rewarded the wins
instead of the Radars.
Replacing these former
wins with three losses will
be a hard pill for the
Radars to swallow as
they've had a strong sea-
son this far. The team has
played 10 games thus far
this season, and before
this suspension came to
light, they had only lost
one of those games. Now,
they have officially lost
four of them.
Second, the team will be
fined $250. Also, Radars
Head Coach Randy
McClinchey and Manager
Mike Hohner were immedi-
ately suspended for the fol-
lowing five games.
Additionally, Aikin had to
serve a doubled suspension;
he was not permitted to play
on Friday, November 11 ver-
sus Lucknow or Friday,
November 18 versus Sau-
geen Shores.
The same day the
Radars released this letter
on their social media
accounts, they also
released a letter from

In the letter, he wrote,
"Teams were sent an email
back in September notify-
ing us of all the carry over
suspensions. I knew we had

from last season and I
didn't pay attention to the

Hohner also apologized

Hohner said "five
points" because two
points was taken from

the Lucknow game giving
those teams the win for all
three of those games.
