To the right is Reverend Ted Nelson, 83, and his son Reverend
Dwight Nelson, 62. It's believed this is the first time in the history
of the First Presbyterian Church in Seaforth that a father and son
have shared the pulpit.

During last Sunday's ser-
vice at the First Presbyterian
Church, a father and son
shared the pulpit and
according to Reverend
Dwight Nelson, this may
have been the first time this
has ever happened.
What day better time to do
it as the First Presbyterian
Church celebrated their
149th anniversary as a
congregation.
Nelson, 62, was named the
reverend last July, which
marks the second Nelson to
"proclaim the word of God."
His father, 83 -year-old,
Reverend Ted Nelson was
ordained in 1967 and ended
up tending to the church in
the 1970s and for a brief
moment in the 1990s.
"It's perhaps the first time
this has ever happened in
this church," stated Nelson,
Nelson said his father's
dedication to religion
inspired him to pursue a life
dream in spirituality.
"I think it gives you a lot
more of a foundation to
build on," Nelson said
November 20.
"If it's in the family, you
get a very up close view of
what a minister is all about."
