Inspired by the TV series of
the same named and organized
for the first time eight years ago
by Victim Services Huron
County, the yearly event is the
local non -profit's most impor-
tant fundraiser, said Weber.
The roughly $10,000 raised
through the event will help
the organization to provide
short-term support to vic-
tims of crime, trauma and
tragic circumstances,
whether that be buying a hot
meal for a family who lost
their home to a fire or cover -
'ng mileage for volunteers,
she said.
The organization does
receive funding from the
Ministry of the Attorney Gen-
eral, but that only covers sala-
ries and overhead expenses.
This event, she said, allows
Victims services to pay for
"all the little extras that make
people's lives a little easier."
The other contestant cou-
ples were Shauna Blake and
Wayne Bos and Paul Halla-
han and Samantha Smith.
The ninth annual Dancing
with the Stars is already
scheduled for Oct. 14, 2017.
