U13 Boys:
U13 Boys Dominant in
Season Opener
The U13 boys traveled to
Wingham on Tuesday night,
May 3, for their first game of
the season. Within minutes
Greg Reidy (aka Digger)
found the back of the Wing -
ham net to set the pace of
the game. St. Columban
would dominate ball control
in the first half keeping the
ball in the offensive zone.
Nathan Earl and Digger
would each add another goal
to end the first half 3-0, with
Kody O'Rourke leaving the
net with a shut -out.
Wingham gained momen-
tum in the 2nd half, and it
would prove to be more of a
battle for ball control. The
Wingham goalie was a force
to be reckoned with, stopping
shot after shot. Finally part
way through the 2nd, Nathan
was able to add another
marker to the score. With less
than a minute of play Wing -
ham would foil the shut out
for Cole Melady, sneaking
one past to end the game 4-1.
Ulf Boys:

Game for Ul l Shamrock Team
The St. Columban U11
Shamrock boys opened their
season Monday night (May
2nd) against Wingham in St.

Shamrocks, Wingham was
first to net a goal. James
McCarthy tied up the game
at 1 a few minutes later with
a nice kick that found the
back of the net. Wingham
would score twice more
before Kody Eisler was able
to add a goal to make the
score 3-2. Wingham would

then score late in the second
half but the Shamrocks kept
digging deep and James
McCarthy was able to net his
second goal in the closing
minutes of the game to make
the final score 4-3 for Wing -
ham. All the boys showed
their determination and
played hard to the final whis-
tle. Great effort boys.

Overhead wires
pulled down by
tractor operator
(HURON EAST, ON) — Huron
County Ontario Provincial
Police (OPP) officers would like
to know who was operating a
farm tractor early this morn-
ing that pulled down some
overhead power lines near the
village of Cranbrook. Some-
where between 12:15 a.m.
and 2:00 a.m. power to several
homes in the Cranbrook area
was knocked out after over-
head hydro wires got snagged
by a tractor that was pull-
ing some sort of implement,
quite possibly a cultivator.
Wires were pulled down in
Cranbook and nearby on
McNabb Line. The damage to
the hydro line on McNabb Line
caused the hydro pole to col-
lapse which resulted in exten-
sive flashing and sparking.
