It's become a necessity that the roughly 20 -year-old tank be re- painted, along with other interior work. The project is expected to cost nearly $250,000 with an addi- tional $15,000 for the 2.2 metres in diameter Huron East crest. "It's a whole picture, it's part of the delamination of the interior. There are spots noticeable on the exterior," said Barry Mills, the Pub- lic Works manager, also adding that the abrasions are mold and rust. "In doing this, you might as well brand it for the municipality as well because it is within Huron East." The council selected Jacques Daust Coatings Management Inc. because the two's previous partnership with Huron East, as well as their tender cost was the lowest. There were four other offers from other businesses that ranged from $350,000-$550,000. Mills said there are no other towers in Huron East, only reservoirs. Thus, he admitted to the importance of the water structure. Wednesday, May 11, 2016 • Huron Expositor 3 Shaun Gregory A picture of Seaforth's water tank.
