Huron Expositor, 2016-05-04, Page 13Wednesday, May 4, 2016 • Huron Expositor 13 POLICE BRIEF Stolen truck recovered, but not the rifle Huron County OPP offic- ers have recovered a sto- len GMC Sierra pickup truck that had been sto- len overnight from a resi- dence located on Wal- ton Road east of Blyth. Just before 4:30 a.m. Huron OPP officers received a call from the property owner after he awoke to find his pickup truck missing from his laneway. He also dis- covered thieves entered into a nearby unlocked shed whereupon they stole two dirt bikes and a .22 calibre rifle. Police believe the thieves stole the prop- erty during the later hours. A few hours ago police were patrolling in the area of Brussels when offic- ers received a call from a passer-by reporting there was an abandoned pickup truck parked on Button Line near St. Michael's Road. Officers arrived on scene shortly after 9:00 a.m. to find the sto- len pickup parked in the middle of the road with the engine running. The green, 2004 GMC Sierra pickup truck did not appear to be damaged. The rifle and dirt bikes were not recovered. The dirt bikes are described as a: yellow, 2006 Suzuki DLF, 125 cc dirt bike and a yel- low 2007 Suzuki DLK , 125 cc dirt bike . They are both valued at approximately $1,500.
