Artists wanted
The Blyth Festival Art
Gallery is looking for artists
for exhibitions in the 2017
and 2018 seasons. Besides
the annual Community
Show, an open (non-juried)
showing of regional art
work, and the Student
Show (works by Huron and
Perth high school art
students), the Gallery
mounts three special art
exhibits each year. Usually
three weeks in length, they
may be solo, two -person or
group showings on a par-
ticular theme.
Individual artists or
groups are invited to submit
a proposal to the Art Gallery
for consideration for the next
two seasons. Work in any
media (painting, print mak-
ing, photography, textiles,
ceramics, sculpture, etc.) is
acceptable and will be
selected on the basis of artis-
tic merit.
Application packages
must include the artist's
contact information, a cur-
rent biography and CV. An
artist's statement and exhi-
bition concept are also
required, as well as good
quality images of recent
work in the same style as
will be represented in the
show. Applications may be
submitted in hard copy
form, digitally on a CD/
DVD, or by email to arrive
by July 20th.
Submissions will be
reviewed by the Exhibition
Committee and short-listed
artists will be interviewed in
their own studio by the
Committee members.

SWART
The family of the late Roy Swart would like
to thank everyone for all the love and
support shown to us after his passing,
February 18, 2016. The doctors and
nursing staff at Seaforth and Clinton
hospitals provided excellent care. To all
those who participated in his celebration of
life service, including Father Keith Morrison
who officiated at the mass and shared his
words of comfort, and the altar servers,
Eucharistic ministers, and the commentator.
To organist Chris Delaney, soloist, Casey
Van Bakel and the St. James choir who
shared their talents by providing beautiful
music. To the Knights of Columbus
members for providing the Honour Guard,
and the St. Columban Cemetery for
arranging Roy's grave for burial. Thank you
to John and Sandy McGlynn, Ruth
Townsend, and Steve Hildebrand of
McGlynn Family Funeral Home for the
outstanding professionalism and
compassion shown to us during a very sad
time. A special thank you to pallbearers
Stacy, Devan, Kailyn, Tim, Matthew and
Liam, and readers Tracey, Alida and
Martha. Again, thank you to our family,
friends and community for all your support,
food, cards, flowers, masses, charitable
donations and prayers. This was all a great
help to us at a very difficult time.
- Sincerely, Angeline, Reg, Joanne, Lynn,
