They essentially curated their own exhibit as a class, and that exhibit is on display at St. Anne's. The class worked in close partnership with the curator at the Huron County Museum, Will Ker- nohan. Students got a behind -the -scenes view of the museum and were instructed on how a museum acquires pieces of historical importance. Armed with that knowledge, students were asked to choose an object of their own to curate. The student curators selected all kinds of different objects for all kinds of differ- ent reasons. Each artifact tells a story about a time in the person's life. The stories paint pictures of days gone by which range from child- hood memories to family histories. The display case at the school features objects such as a doll, toy, sledgehammer, crucifix or wooden shoes. The object of this project was to spark interest in local and family history and to encourage a sense of curios- ity in history and interpret- ing the past. They also create conversations about objects and memories that hold a special place in the students' hearts.
