These photo- graphs were taken by around 40 students, staff, alumni and community members. "Most times when people come in they say wow, I never expected this," said teacher and organizer Jacqui Vercruyssen. Many of the photographs were on sale via a silent auc- tion. All the proceeds are to go back to the photography program at C.H.S.S. for things like new lenses, etc. The photography class decides collaboratively where to put the money. The stunning display was completely organized and put together by the grade 12 pho- tography class. Teacher Jacqui Vercruyssen started the show 6 years ago. She has helped run it every year since, and every year 't gets bigger and includes more elements. For example this year, some stu- dents constructed their own cameras from kits, and there was a display of photos taken from drones. The class collected photo- graphs for six weeks, and the two weeks before the show were devoted to printing the photos, framing select shots, making a slide show and more. This year, many alumni submitted photos from all over the world. "My former students that still keep in contact with me said oh my gosh, your show is coming up, and they still make submissions," said Vercruyssen. They didn't want the show to be a contest, so 700 of the 800 submissions were dis- played in one shape or form, whether that was blown up and framed, in a 4 x 6 frame, on a slideshow or displayed in some other way. Everything is printed in house by students with a pro- fessional printer at the school.
