incredible saves to keep
them at one. St. Columban
saw some great defending by
Charlee Gethke, Rachel Hae -
fling and Ella Brodhagen.
Hard offense was displayed
by Alexa Burtenshaw,
Haileigh Templeman, Kat-
rina Bolinger, and Avery
McCarthy. Ogilvie and
Cronin played strong offense
as well when they were not
goal tending. Great effort.
Keep up the good work.
U18 Girls
St.Columban u 18 girls
had a strong start playing
into a strong wind in Goder-
ich on Wednesday, June 8th.
They had several near misses
but couldn't find the back of
the net in the first half. A
very strong passing game led
to the only marker by Kayla
Terpstra midway through the
second frame. Goderich had
good pressure near the end
but St. Columban held on for
the 1-0 win. Thank you to
the call ups, Clare Horan,
Maddie Hill and Sarah Van-
Bakel for helping out.
U11 Girls
On June 2, the U11 girls
travelled to South Huron for
their first matchup of the
season. Right from the start,
the game went back and
forth as each team battled
for the first marker. Close
calls were plenty, but it was
Malina Cronin who stepped
up and drove a shot into
their mesh. That stood as
the final and only goal of the
match. St.Columban won
1-0. The shut -out was
recorded by Hannah Nolan
and Chelsea Vandenheuvel.
On June 9, the girls visited
Lucan's pitch and knew it
would be a tough game to
the final whistle. The girls
took control of the play at
first, but Lucan came back
and began to shake up the
girls. Our defence squad of
Meg Schoonderwoerd, Keira
Dietz, Erica Maloney, Chel-
sea Vandenheuvel, Steph-
anie Phillips, and Sadie Mac-
Arthur were solid, and kept
us in the game. Hannah
Nolan was able to notch the
first goal, with a penalty
shot, and Keira put the final
marker in, with 2 minutes
left, with a end to end rush.
Chelsea and Hanna
recorded the shut -out.
