The OHA (Ontario Horti- cultural Association) approved the launch of Gar- den Ontario Week in 2015 and is held annually during the 3rd week of June. There are many events and activities being organized throughout Ontario during this time. From plant sales to flower shows, workshops to guided tours, there is something for everyone and everyone is invited. Seaforth and District Hor- ticultural Society will be set- ting up a display in the Mait- land Mobile Veterinary Services' store front on Main Street in Seaforth during Garden Ontario Week. We encourage you to stop by and see what your local Soci- ety is all about. Many society members work hard at keep- ing our community bloom- ing with beautiful flowers and gardens. Baskets and planter boxes are now flow- ing with colour on main street and flower beds have all been brought back to life with the planting of new flowers for the season. Please take a leisurely stroll throughout our town and enjoy the delightful work that has been done. The Seaforth Horticultural Society keeps busy through- out the year and has an exciting list of events lined up. On May 14th the Annual Plant & Bake Sale was held. A big "thank you" to all that came out to support this wonderful event. Monthly meetings are held at North- side United Church on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7:30pm and always include a guest speaker, gar- den tour or a fun event. Last month they had the pleasure of listening to Susanne Rob- inson, Robinson Maple Products and on June 8th Liz Malicki, "New Zealand - A Horticultural Wonderland" will be the guest speaker. On July 13th there will be a bus trip to Royal Botanical Gardens in Hamilton, for tickets please call Heather at 519-527- 1832. Garden tours have been planned for August.
