Let's Celebrate Garden Ontario
Week June 11-19, 2016
Garden Ontario week is a
perfect opportunity for Cana-
dians to the extra time to
enjoy their own garden, visit
or take part in their favourite
garden experience, get
inspired at their local garden
centre or travel to a nearby
destination to enjoy their
favourite garden.
The OHA (Ontario Horti-
cultural Association)
approved the launch of Gar-
den Ontario Week in 2015 and
is held annually during the
3rd week of June. There are
many events and activities
being organized throughout
Ontario during this time.
From plant sales to flower
shows, workshops to guided
tours, there is something for
everyone and everyone is
invited.
Seaforth and District Hor-
ticultural Society will be set-
ting up a display in the Mait-
land Mobile Veterinary
Services' store front on Main
Street in Seaforth during
Garden Ontario Week. We
encourage you to stop by
and see what your local Soci-
ety is all about. Many society
members work hard at keep-
ing our community bloom-
ing with beautiful flowers
and gardens. Baskets and
planter boxes are now flow-
ing with colour on main
street and flower beds have
all been brought back to life
with the planting of new
flowers for the season.
Please take a leisurely stroll
throughout our town and
enjoy the delightful work
that has been done.
The Seaforth Horticultural
Society keeps busy through-
out the year and has an
exciting list of events lined
up. On May 14th the Annual
Plant & Bake Sale was held.
A big "thank you" to all that
came out to support this
wonderful event. Monthly
meetings are held at North-
side United Church on the
2nd Wednesday of the
month at 7:30pm and always
include a guest speaker, gar-
den tour or a fun event. Last
month they had the pleasure
of listening to Susanne Rob-
inson, Robinson Maple
Products and on June 8th Liz
Malicki, "New Zealand - A
Horticultural
Wonderland" will be the
guest speaker. On July 13th
there will be a bus trip to
Royal Botanical Gardens in
Hamilton, for tickets please
call Heather at 519-527-
1832. Garden tours have
been planned for August.

upcoming events visit SDHS
