Billy Duffy shows the old picture he found, he is asking for the community's help in putting some names to the faces. He said he
knows no information pertaining to the photograph.

It's fair to say Seaforth's
population is an older com-
munity. With saying that, a
lot of aged pieces of history
pop out of the debris. From
hippy -day nude pictures, to

newspaper, has an inquiry
about a photo.
The 3"x5" vintage black
and white photograph has
two older boys holding a
sign that reads McKillop S.S.
No 6. accompanied by a
group of children wearing
what appears to be Cana-
dian themed outfits. A
teacher stands to the left;
boys are on one side, girls on
the other with one female
wearing a crown with the
word "CANADA" across her
shirt. McKillop S.S. No 6. is a
school Duffy admitted to
attending, along with his
father. Before his father
passed at 92 -years -old a few
years back, the two were
going through some artifacts
and the item surfaced from a
"large old steel trunk." Duffy
1 1T II
said his father had no recol-
lection of where it came
from.
"It's been driving me nuts,"
commented Duffy relating to
the mystery behind the
image.
"You look at the teacher,
the way she is dressed, (and)
I would say it has to be from
the 1920s."
It seems that the item was
meant to be mailed as the
words "POST CARD" in
capital letters alongside a
placement for stamps can
be found on the back of the
puzzling relic. Since most of
the people in the photo are
wearing maple leafs and
poppies, Duffy suggested it
might be in celebration of
confederation.
"Is it a Canada Day thing?
Or a fair? In them days, I
guess they had the fairs at
the schools eh?"
His father was the young-
est sibling; Duffy isn't ruling
out the possibility that the
subjects in the photo could
have a connection to his
aunts and/or uncles.
