Upon hearing the sad infor- mation from medical personnel at the University Hospital in London Ont., Beuerman said the occurrence was not just broadcasted to strangers, but also the "shuffling" around from room -to -room made the already tough experience that much more painful. "We never knew from one day to the next, what room we would be in," she said in a recent inter- view. "Sometimes we would be in a big waiting room with other people in there." "What we were going through, that was the last thing we wanted to worry about:' Her husband died July 12, 2013 of a massive heart attack and her son died July 22 of 2015 from a similar heart complication. "My son had three months to live without a heart transplant, a heart came available, and so he took it and he never woke up,' stated Beuerman who also added that he lived only ten days after the surgery. Knowing how much of a toll on the family the constant travels back and forth to London and Sea - forth are in conjunction with the uncomfortable feeling Beuerman and her family felt being in an unfurnished space. She has decided to launch a fundraiser BBQ in commemoration to her two family members who passed away two years apart. Last year the event was not public but more of a family affair, but this time around, Beuerman has made 300 tickets available - most of them have already been sold. After the event is all said and done, she will present the funds to the University Hospital with the request that it be put towards building special rooms where families can privately be given sensitive and confidential information regarding their loved ones. "If they cannot do that, the money will go the Critical Cardiac Care Unit, where my son and husband were," Beuer- man said. Scott Saunders Rolling' Roaster will be catering the food for the BBQ; the event will take place in Blyth on August 13. *EAFORTH & AREA PHONE Rnnv km.r:. 0041.. 140eat wax 47191■ 4 rm.4 LAN ?4, ] 01,mer,K., trio dwy r NUM 01' .
