Fight cruelty with cupcakes
Did you know that simply
by baking cupcakes you can
help animals in need? Join
the sweetest day of the year
this Feb. 29, for Canada's
fourth annual National
Cupcake Day for SPCAs and
Humane Societies, a day
when indulging your sweet
tooth is entirely guilt -free.
National Cupcake Day'" is a
coordinated Canadian
event to support local shel-
ters, SPCAs and Humane
Societies. In 2015, animal
lovers across Canada raised
over $550,000 in support of
their favourite animal
centres.
"What I love about Cup-
cake Day is that it's so easy
to get involved," said
Tamara Minns, Ontario
SPCA Huron County Animal
Centre coordinator. "If
you're not a pro baker, don't
let that stop you. After all,
it's not about the cupcakes
themselves, it's about mak-
ing a difference."
Proceeds from the event
go to SPCAs and Humane
Societies across the country,
helping to support animals
big and small, who have
been abused, abandoned or
in need of help. The Ontario
SPCA Huron County Animal
Centre will use these funds
to find homes for surren-
dered, rescued, neglected or
abused animals.
