Local broomball results
Special to the Expositor
On January 15-17, all our
teams traveled to Mildmay to
participate in their annual
tournament.
Our Midgets were the only
one's to play on the Friday.
Their first game was against
Blyth Silver, which they
played an excellent game.
But fell short losing 4-1, with
Patrick O'Rourke scoring.
Their second game of the
night was against Kilsyth. It
was a fine game but they just
couldn't get the ball into the
net with Corbin having
plenty of amazing saves. But
came up with the short end
of the stick, losing 3-0.
The Peewees were up bright
and early Saturday morning to
take on the Blyth Bullets. The
score was tied 1-1 with the goal
scored by Corbin Alles. During
overtime they just couldn't get
the ball into the net just falling
short 2-1.
The Atom #1 made the trip
to play Blyth. They had many
chances of scoring winning
4-0. Katrina Bolinger and
Logan Donohue both scored a
goal. Also, Ethan Blake scored
two. Allowing them to win the
game.
Atom #2 played the follow-
ing game against Mildmay.
With the many chances they
had they just couldn't find the
net. They ended up losing 1-0.
Our Bantam Hitmen played
the game right after against the
Blyth Boys. They had many
shots and Nathan Kovacs had
some excellent saves. They
came out on top winning 1-0.
Our Peewees later played
against Palmerston. They were
behind 2-0 going into the sec-
ond half. Sam Kramers scored
malting the score 3-1. They just
couldn't find the net subse-
quently losing 4-1.
Our Atom #1 team played
against Mildmay. With many
chances on net, Caleb Kramers
scored making the score 1-0.
The score stayed the same,
making the final score 1-0, for
Seaforth.
The Atom #2 team played
right after against Blyth.
Ethan Blake scored making
the score 1-0, with the final
score being 1-0.
The Bantams played their
second game against Palm-
erston. With the many excep-
tional chances they had on net
they just couldn't put one in,
losing 1-0.
The Midgets played their
third and final game against
Innisfil. With the many
chances that they had, the ball
just couldn't reach the back of
e s. o our pa , p ease rec c
the net. Corbin Marshall had
many amazing saves. The final
score was 1-0.
Bright and early the Sunday
morning our Peewees hit the
ice against the Mildmay
Hawks. Our goalie had many
saves. But we just couldn't get
the ball into the net. Losing 3-0.
Both our Atom teams
ended up playing against each
other. We would like to send a
giant thank you to the Mild-
may atoms for volunteering to
play goalie for us. Iran (blue
team) and Peyton (red team)
they were both great kids.
Atom 1 won with a goal
scored by Emerson Gowan.
By coincidence, Bantams
ended up playing Palmerston
again. The final score was, 1-0.
Overall, our teams played
amazing in the tournament.
Let's keep it going until the
end of the season.

U19AA fight hard for the tie
Special to the Expositor
Exeter Seaforth U19AA
Provincial ringette returned
to league play Saturday in
Guelph and brought home a
well -desired 4-4 tie. The
locals came out with fire in
their skates and started the
attack early, creating five -six
great scoring chances before
Avery Wedow netted a great
relay pass from Rachelle
Keys and Amanda Hodgert.
Guelph replied on an Exeter
Seaforth error to tie the
game at the 11:29 mark of
the first Half. Both team set-
tled into the fast paced game
with great offensive and
defensive opportunities. It
wasn't till a minute to go in
the half that Wedow put a
crafty shot in the net from
the free pass circle, to take
the lead into the second half.
Guelph capitalized on a
power play opportunity to tie
the game with 14:54 to go.
Fast end-to-end action filled
with great passing plays
challenged both goaltend-
ers. Guelph scored to take
the lead, but moments later
Alyssa Vanderkuylen found
Maddie Cormier who
whipped the ring in to the
net to tie the game again.
Play continued with the
locals matching Guelph
stride for stride and Jessica
Quinn took a great pass from
Wedow and put the locals up
with 2:21 to play. Again
Guelph answered seconds
later to finish the games
scoring and tying the score
