Cello editorial have the "man flu" The Christmas tree has been taking down and hauled off to the curb or fire pit, even the turkey leftovers no longer exist. Even though the holi- day season is finished, there is another season that approaches; say hello to Influenza. Instead of warm hardy food followed by gifts, this time of year ema- nates into 3-5 days of sick- ness including body aches among several other terri- bly excruciating symptoms. And what do you know? I'm one of the many millions in the country to donate his/ her body to this respiratory infection. I guess that's what I get for not taking five minutes out of my day to get a flu shot. My sheer laziness has resulted in the letters to the editor Column Shaun Gregory pain equivalency of being hit by a transport truck. I honestly feel like a wimp, my girlfriend is six months pregnant with twins and if she was the one to be infected by any of the numerous type of sick- nesses going around, I'm more than sure it would not affect her daily routine, she would just go about her business, she wouldn't get ORPP a poor plan for Ontario To the editor: Minister Hunter>s lopsided view on the impact of the Ontario Retirement Pension Plan (ORPP) is, quite frankly, dangerous for the future of Huron -Bruce and this province. In our rural riding, many businesses are locally owned and operated, employing small teams of our families and neighbours. For Huron and Bruce Counties, and our prov- ince, the ORPP is the wrong approach at abso- lutely the wrong time. A cost -benefit analysis recently released by the govern- ment admits the provincial economy won>t fully recover from the shock of the ORPP for 20 years. It confirms job losses will be in the tens of thousands, the flu, the flu would get her. Maybe it's just women in general, I feel they are considerably stronger in the difficulties of life. They're built better to take life by the horns, especially mothers. If they're sick they will not even tell you, they just keep trucking through the day and do what they have to do. Then there's me, smothered in my blan- kets laying lifeless on the couch with a ripped open package of Dayquil, waiting for this agony to leave my presence. My girlfriend walks by me and cackles sarcastically "perhaps it's the man flu': Only if there was evidence to show her what the heck I was going through and that men feel the flu more than women. as Ministry of Finance docu- ments we exposed two years ago had stated. Disposable income and private invest- ment will decline, and household spending isn>t forecast to recover until 2040. It will become difficult for anyone making under $90,000 to actually save anything on their own outside of the ORPP. Are we really Look after your pets in frigid temperatures If you want to have a dog, then be responsible enough to walk your dog. Don't just let them outside to go for themselves, without coats or paw protection in cold weather. It is outright dog abuse. This morning at 9 a.m. as we went for a walk, all bun- dled up ourselves, we encountered an unaccompa- nied loose short haired dog in -10'C weather, without a coat or paw protection. It barked at us, but followed us for 1 1/2 blocks, as it appeared to be lost. It would not come to us. Upon returning home, the dog was nowhere to be seen. Poor thing, I hope its owner found it. Can anyone imagine being out in that temperature in the nude left to go to the bathroom and no idea how to eaforthhuronexpositor.com On a real note we most likely feel the exact same pain as females do. I guess we need to stop wasting boxes of Kleenex, and hours throughout the day complaining of how sick we are or how bad we feel. Especially looking at your significant others for sup- port, for the reason that nine times out of ten they have enough stuff on their plate and taking care of a 30 -year-old alleged sick man is the last thing they want to do. I guess I'm just saying sorry to all the woman who have to hear us men whining like little babies, this is Shaun Greg- ory AKA the sick guy, sign- ing out from my computer in the basement. going to disadvantage an entire generation of Ontarians with the ORPP, with no guarantees that this is a real solution? The added cost to businesses will simply be too much for many to bear. The (Kathleen) Wynne government needs to hit the pause button on the ORPP for some sober second thought based on its own analysis. — Jessica Trepanier get back into the warmth?
