Boys are nuts
Four years ago this com-
ing March, my significant
other, Sarah, and I wel-
comed our beautiful daughter
Gavriella into this world. When
we heard the amazing news
that we would be expecting
another bundle of joy we were
more than excited. What put
us over the top with this amaz-
ing gift of life was the news that
we would be invited to the
million dollar family club as
our second child was going to
be a baby boy. We were ready
to experience the best of
worlds, a boy and a girl. What
a dream come true, right?
Well, at least I thought so.
Don't get me wrong I could
care less if I hada boy or girl. I
guess it's just different when a
man has a son compared to a
daughter. Since we are the
same sex I feel I can relate to
him slightly easier. Isn't it every
father's dream to have a son to

carry on his last name and
eventually for that son to pass
that name down to his future
son? If your daughter gets
married, you can kiss that
name good bye. It's my inten-
tion when the time comes, to
try to convince Gav to keep our
last name; chances are pretty
slim there though. I got a little
off topic there. So my son was
bom; what a size difference
between his older sister and
him. Honestly, the kid came
out with a head like an orange
letter to the editor
And how are you sleeping these days?
Dear editor,
True Story between two citi-
zens living in two different
Industrial Wind Turbine
Projects:
Me: Do the turbines affect
you?
Her: I hadn't noticed any-
thing, how about you?
Me: Yes, about five days after
the first Project near us started, I
had my first bout of tinnitus.
Her: Tinnitus, what's that?
Me: Ringing in my ears.
Her: Oh, I have that.
Me: When did that start?
Her: hmmm, let's see...after
the turbines started....
Health Issues began for some
residents immediately after the
initial Projects come online,
others take weeks or months to
be noticed and there are vari-
ous degrees of severity with
those symptoms. Given that
and that most of the symptoms
are common to other illnesses
health practitioners are more
familiar with, many citizens
don't connect the dots between
what they are experiencing and
Industrial Wind Turbine opera-
tions. Complaints commonly
identified by affected citizens
are:
• Heart palpitations
• Vertigo
• Nausea
• Dizziness
• Visual blurring
• Concentration and Memory
problems
• Panic episodes
• Chronic fatigue and loss of
energy
• irritability
• Head and Ear Pressure
• Headaches and Migraine
• Pulsating vibrations in your
body
• Sleep Deprivation (my per-
sonal nemesis).... waking up at
2 and 3 and 4 in the morning,
and I mean WIDE awake, for no
apparent reason.
Once symptoms begin, it is
on a toothpick, he was abso-
lutely huge, a blond monster.
As time passed I started to
realize that there were a lot
more things separating our
two siblings and weight and
girth were not even half of the
dilemma. After a month or so I
started to realize boys and girls
are more than two diverse
worlds, especially babies. The
old saying, "it's like night and
day" comes to mind but that
doesn't really come close to
comprehending the difference
between the two. Gav was
bom a little yellow from jaun-
dice, but besides that she was
just right. She slept 10-12
hours a night, right from the
time we brought her home
from the hospital, followed by
two daily naps. Then there's
Grayson; we were lucky if he
slept five hours consecutively
throughout any given night. I
was constantly
reported globally they do not go
away, people do not 'get used to
it' (a common phrase used by
people who don't experience
symptoms) - it gets worse.
Just to be clear and to avoid
being accused of fear monger-
ing, this letter's intent is to help
educate the wider public and
increase awareness and sup-
port for health affected resi-
dents. Whether or not you per-
sonally experience symptoms
does not mean others don't. I
liken it to any other environ-
mental hazard, people can be
affected to varying degrees,
depending upon pre-existing
health conditions, current
health status, and a host of
other factors. Like it or not,
there ARE health affected citi-
zens that are experiencing neg-
ative health impacts since tur-
bine operations began and
have and/or in the process of
considering leaving their
homes because of
wondering- like what the heck
were you doing in the womb
pal, were you fed at all in that
nine-month time frame? This
kid was starving all the time
and by the way he nursed I felt
more than bad for my girl-
friend, lucky he didn't have
teeth yet, ouch. Don't get me
wrong, like I have said in my
previous columns, I would
walk through the gates of hell
holding my children's hands if
need be, the fact of the matter
is boys are just crazy, psycho,
wild, curious, angry, aggressive
and hungry. Did I miss a
word? I think I nailed that
down. Truthfully, my son is the
most handsome and lovable
little munchkin I've ever laid
eyes on, but believe you and
me, I'm not at all upset that
our twins, who are due next
month, are girls. Signing out
from the Expositor office,
Shaun the not so new guy.
those negative health impacts. I
personally have no doubt that
once the Grand Bend Wind
Project's 3.2 MW turbines begin
full operation expected in
March 2016, the numbers of
health affected citizens will
grow.
It is safe to say that this issue
has created more animosity
among and between members
of the rural communities than
any other issue. The opportu-
nity for developing avenues
with which to work towards
solutions that work for all has
never been more necessary.
In an effort to secure support
for health affected residents,
there will be a presentation
made to the Huron County
Board of Health on March 3,
2016 at 9 am at 77722B Lon-
don Road, Clinton, Ontario.
Interested persons are welcome
to attend this public meeting.
