BLANCHARD, Bethany - Passed away
suddenly in a motor vehicle accident on
Tuesday, December 6, 2016. Born in
London, Ontario, on August 2, 1999,
Bethany Joy Blanchard of Clinton, was 17
years old. Cherished daughter of Karen
Blanchard of Kincardine and Ron Blanchard
(Laurie Finch) of Seaforth. Loving sister of
Cortni (Shawn Stothers), Mandy, Alyssa,
Abigail (Bethany's Twin), Ronny and Becky.
Also missed by her grandparents, Ada
Blanchard of Seaforth, John and Sandra
Dietrich of Grand Bend, great-grandparents
Bruce and Ruby Stanlake of Grand Bend,
as well as her aunts, uncles, cousins and
many friends. Predeceased by her
grandfather Gordon Blanchard. Visitation
was held in the Huron Christian School
Gymnasium, Clinton, on Saturday,
December 10, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.,
with Bethany's funeral service to celebrate
her life at 4 p.m. Pastor Mark Kennedy led
the service and cremation followed.
Memorial donations to the Bethany
Blanchard Memorial Fund (a bursary in
Bethany's memory to be awarded to
outstanding art students at Huron Christian
School and Central Huron Secondary
School) are appreciated and can be made

GAFFNEY, Mary Margaret (Nee
Stapleton) - Retired Catholic School
Teacher. Passed away peacefully at Perth
Community Care Centre, Perth on Sunday,
December 4, 2016 at the age of 87.
Beloved wife of the late Leonard Gaffney.
Devoted mother of Brian, Richard (Nicole),
Kevin (Trina Preece), and Nancy (Thomas)
Hopkins. Cherished grandmother of Elyse,
Sarah, Steven, Zachary, Jason, and Kate.
Mary will be sadly missed by her brother
Jeremiah (late Elizabeth) Stapleton, and
her sister-in-law Elaine (Gerald) Mohr. She
was also predeceased by her parents Carl
and Geraldine (nee Meagher) Stapleton,
her brother-in-law Robert (Eleanor) Gaffney
and her sister-in-law Madeline (Robert)
Martin. Mary will be fondly remembered by
her many nieces, nephews, extended
family, friends, as well as her many former
colleagues and students. She was a proud
member of the Legion of Mary and was a
member of the CWL for over 50 years.
Friends were received at the BLAIR & SON
FUNERAL HOME, Smiths Falls, on
Friday, December 9, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6
to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was
celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Church,
on Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment took place
at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery. If
desired, memorial contributions may be
made to St. Francis de Sales Building Fund
or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
