"The beauty of this is, the
kids get to do the shopping,"
stated Oldfield. "There is
such great surprises (at)
Christmas, the parents love
it because it's something
they can really have fun
with!'
With an hour left, Old-
field said there were about
170 youngsters signed up
she anticipated those
numbers possibly growing
to 200 before the event
ended.
Lgigigy raised
roughly $2,400 and after all
expenses were covered
including the pizza lunch
supplied for the more than
50 volunteers, the remain-
ing money raised went
right back to the
community.
From free swims in Vanas-
tra, free ice-skating and
library programs, this money
is used efficiently.
"It's an all around great
community venture, by
the community, for the
community," said Oldfield
after welcoming some
vistitors.
