The AVS Control Systems plant in Mitchell Ontario is a Tier 1 major
engine, body and transmission mount supplier to GM, Chrysler, and Ford.
We currently have the following openings:
Manufacturing Project Engineer
The primary role will be to manage and launch new programs from
prototype phase through to the start of production, ultimately successfully
handing off the equipment & process to the manufacturing group. You will
lead contact with customers and cross functional meetings with internal
parties. As well you will provide solutions to manufacturing problems for
new and existing processes and machinery. A post -secondary education in
Engineering or equivalent is required. Ideally you have previous work
experience in the automotive manufacturing field in a similar role.
Demonstrated strong troubleshooting skills and a creative ability are a
strong asset. Strong project skills are required. We offer a competitive

Senior Program Engineer
You will be involved in the design, development, and validation of
components and system level design of vibration isolators (engine mounts,
body mounts, etc.) for the automotive industry. You will be involved in
prototype and testing activities, and customer engineering interface. In
addition to a Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma, candidates will
possess a dynamic personality with excellent mechanical aptitude and
interpersonal skills. Preference will be given to applicants with 3 to 5 years'
experience directly related to product design in various component
materials (rubber, stampings, castings and fasteners) as well as
understanding of vibration control theory. Ideally you will have previous
work experience making technical presentations to existing and potential
customers, as well as excellent project management and organizational
skills. In addition, experience with interpreting FEA results and exposure to
DFMEA, DFA, GD&T and vibration analysis is a definite asset. Candidates
should be individuals who are self-starters, team players, organized and
display ownership, accountability and professionalism. We are willing to
consider applicants who hold lesser experience but have a dynamic
personality and strong engineering skills.
Certified Tool & Die Maker
Responsible for general maintenance on dies including sharpening,
polishing and replacing broken or worn parts; machining and fabricating
improvements to dies to suit engineering changes; machining and
fabricating parts for other departments; reading and interpreting
engineering drawings, component prints and assembly part drawings and
verifying machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision
measuring instruments. The successful candidate must be able to operate
horizontal lathes, milling machine centers and surface grinders. An Ontario
Certificate of Qualification, Tool and Die Maker is required. The rate of pay
for this position is $28.43/hr plus we offer an excellent benefits package.
This is a unionized position that is currently staffed on a straight day shift.
Certified Industrial Electrician -6 MonthsTemporary
Applicants must possess a Certified Industrial Electrician ticket.
Experience in PLCs and an electronics background in an automotive
manufacturing environment are required. Troubleshooting of PLCs, DC
Drives, AC inverters and installations are an asset. This is a unionized
hourly position that involves shift work. This position pays $29.64/hr.
Summer Student General Labourers
We are looking for mature applicants who can meet production targets
while maintaining a high level of safety, quality and productivity standards.
The position would run from May through to the end of August and is open
to students entering or returning to post -secondary studies in the fall.
Applicants must be able to work a 3 shift rotation. The hourly rate of pay is
$13.71 for a 40 hour work week. Overtime opportunities may be available.

Sealed tenders, addressed to the County Engineer, Mr. Steven Lund,
P.Eng., PWLF, County of Huron, Public Works Department, 1 Courthouse
Square, Goderich, Ontario, N7A 1 M2, will be received until:
2:00 p.m., Tuesday May 10, 2016
For repairs to the above bridge located about 3km north of Seaforth. The
work includes replacement of the existing curbs and railings, concrete repairs
to the deck, abutments and piers as well as slope stabilization work under
the bridge. The work shall be completed no later than October 7, 2016 in
preparation for an asphalt paving project.
Plans, specifications and tender forms for this contract may be obtained
from the office of the undersigned after April 20th, upon payment of a
non-refundable fee of $50.00, payable to B. M. Ross and Associates Limited,
which includes all taxes. Each tender must be accompanied by a certified
cheque or bid bond in the amount Of $25,000.
Lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. Tender award is
conditional upon County budget approval. Bidders shall note that the County
has an established tender evaluation system.

CAMPBELL, Margaret "Margie" -
Reunited with her son Edward and husband
Arnold, Margie passed away peacefully at
Seaforth Community Hospital on
Wednesday, April 13, 2016. Born in
Listowel on January 2, 1942, Margaret
Rose Ann (nee Baffin) Campbell of RR#5
Seaforth, was in her 75th year. Beloved
wife of the late G. Arnold Campbell (June
2014). Loving mother of the late Edward
Campbell (Jan. 1965), Jim Campbell
(Marci) of Lucan, Karen Taylor (John) of
Seaforth and Becky Belfour (Matt) of
Seaforth. Cherished Grandmother of
Megan and Matthew Campbell, Owen and
Cora Taylor and Garrison and Kessel
Belfour. Dear sister of Joyce Battin (and
friend Gerry), Charlotte Parsons (Harold),
Mary Beth Mann, Ross Battin (Marg),
Janice Pfeifer (Murray), and sister-in-law of
Mabel Nesbitt, Les Campbell (Gayle) and
Marjorie Dillon (Hardy). Margie will also be
missed by many nieces, nephews and
friends. Predeceased by her parents Glen
and Isabelle (nee Henry) Baffin, father and
mother-in-law George and Esther (nee
Kerr) Campbell and siblings -in-law Muriel
McClure (Walter), Harry Nesbitt and Bill
Mann. Margie was an active elder of First
Presbyterian Church who loved music and
Tuesday Tunes. She worked for Town &
Country Homemakers for many years
providing company and support to
members of the community. Visitation was
held at MCGLYNN FAMILY FUNERAL
HOME, Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Friday,
April 15th from 7-9 p.m. Visitation continued
at First Presbyterian Church, Seaforth, on
Saturday, April 16th from 10 a.m. until the
time of Margie's funeral service at 11 a.m. A
reception followed in the First Presbyterian
Church Hall and interment is taking place at
Maitlandbank Cemetery, later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial
donations to the Seaforth Community
Hospital or First Presbyterian Church are
appreciated and can be made through the
