Kinloss Items _
A few lines from this neighborhood
have reached us, but ne name is
attached. At any rate, we, partner
insert it. It is not news at all, but
simply 6, few paragraphs referring in
a very personal way to some young
man and his supposed "sweettigart."
We have no room for such stuff.
Items of news are always welcome, but.
such stud' as the communication
eferred to, goes at once into the waste
basket.
Public Libps,ry Entertainment
The directors ef the Lucknow Public
LibFary, are making arrangements to
hold a grand musical and literary
entertainment in the town hall, on the
evening -of Thursday, December 24th.
As the object the directors have in
view: is to raise funds for the purchase
of napre books for the library we trust
that - all friends of this deserving
institution will advertise the enter-
tainment as much as possible, and
eive it a liberal patronage:
The Eleetric Rallivay
The Huron & Ontario Electric Rail-
way, running from Kincardine and
Goderich via Walkerton to Eugenia,
the junction town, thence north _ to
Meaford and south to Port Perry, is to
be begun at once The New York
contractor states that it will be finished
by January, 1898. . A meeting of the
provisional directors to ratify and sign
the contracts will be held in a few
days. .This will be quite a boon to the
people north and west, and .will no
doubt give- quite an impetus to trade
and help build up some of the smeller
places, so Says the London Free Ptess.
