U., of Lucknow, Mrs. Owen Hitchcox, of Paris, will hold a series of Gospel Temperance meetings on Oct. 18ch, 19th and 20th, in the town hall, com- mencing on Sabbath afternoon at 4 o'clock and in the evening at. 8; Monday and Tuesday at 8 p. m. Lucknow SchoOl • From the official report 'just issued it ' will be seen that the Lucknow school stands fourth on ' the list -of successful entrancecandidates. Wak- erton is first, Kincardine second, Port Elgin third, and Lucknow fourth. • It must be remembered that Walkerton, Kincardine and Port .Elgin are much larger places than Lticknow. They do public school work only, whereas Lucknow has been doing high school work. During the period covered by the report -1886 to I890—Lucknow turned out nine second-class and eighteen third-class candidates.
