try this ink. It can be seen at Mr.

his writing that is certainly attractive.

will find that the strain on their eyes
due to the glaring black ink on white

19th and 20th, in the town hall, com-
mencing on Sabbath afternoon at 4
o'clock and in the evening at. 8;
Monday and Tuesday at 8 p. m.
As this lady comes well recommend-
ed by the press of the various towns
and, cities where she has lectured,
and her name being on the rolls of. the
National Lecture Bureau of New
York, this clipping from -the Toronto
Globe will convince : "Yesterday Mrs.
Owen Hitchcox, of Paris, addressed
large audiences, in the Auditorium at
boththe afternoon and evening
services. It wastliethird visit of this
talented lady speaker and singer to
Toronto within 'three weeks, and the
flattering reception she met shows her,
popularity with a city audience. This
lady possesses a' rich soprano voice
which she uses with great effect. Her
address in the afternoon was.a thrilling
temperance talk On "Removing the
Obstacles," and in the evening she
spoke on "God's pity for fallen and
suffering humanity," which was
supplemented by earnest words from
Mr. Wilkinson.

Lucknow SchoOl •
From the official report 'just issued
it ' will be seen that the Lucknow
school stands fourth on ' the list -of
successful entrancecandidates. Wak-
erton is first, Kincardine second, Port
Elgin third, and Lucknow fourth. • It
must be remembered that Walkerton,
Kincardine and Port .Elgin are much
larger places than Lticknow. They
do public school work only, whereas
Lucknow has been doing high school
work. During the period covered by
the report -1886 to I890—Lucknow
turned out nine second-class and
eighteen third-class candidates. Con-
sidering the size pf our village and the
numbers successfully prepared for
entrance and departmental examina-
tions, Lucknove stands at the head of
the list.
