The match,was won by the Lucknow

A brilliant and unique wedding was
celebrated at old St. Jelin's church in
. Buffalo, N. Y., on Wednesday, Sept.
23rd. The bride was MiES Frances
Jeanette Savage, the seventh daughter

Mr. Thomas Warburton Mitchell, of
Boston, Mass. It was charming
evening, the stars shining forth with
uaid-aummer:night, when the carriages
began to roll up to the cherch,portals
and unload their occupants, the invited
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Stocker.
Long before the ceremony began the

very .interesting organ recital , played
by Mr. J.`de Zielinski, one of Buffalo's
most prominent artists. The program
embraced Lemmena' "Faufare," an
offertory by Batiste, Elevation by
font -Wise, PNSSUrelle-brtifigOUla her
Pilgrims' Cherukfrore Tannhauser by
Wagner, and for the entre of the bridal
party the introduction to the 3rd Act
of Lohenglin by Wagner. The three
ushers, Messrs. Louis Northrop, W. C.
Blatchford and Henry Marcos, walking
abreast led the procession, followed at
a proper distance by 111i6S Ida Kubele,
of New York, attired in rose pink
brocaded silk, with cream crepe de
chino and .pearl trimmings. After her
came the bride's sister, Mrs. Hugh
Stocker; together with the • groom's
sister, Mrs. A. L. Philis of New York.
Mrs. Stocker's exquisite figure was
robed in rose shaded lansdown trimmed
with mousline desoie en train.

maid of honor, Miss Leila Berry of L c
now, in cream India silk with'cream
crape ruching and pearls. • She wore
on her , neck the bride's gift, a gold

• her brother-in-law, Hugh Stocker, Esq:
They were met at the altar by the
groom and his best man, Mr: Henry
Mitchell, of Newburgh, N, Y. The
bride, glorious in ivory sicilian benga-
line, exquisitely embroidered by herself
in orange blossoms with ropes of pearl
and mousline desoie full court train
and veil, wore the grooms gift,
diamond solitaire ear drops, and carried
brides roses. During the impressive
ceremony of the Episcopal ritual per-
formed by Rev. George Gray Ballard,
Mr. de Zielinski played the wedding
chorus from the 3rd Act of Lohengein

The wedding was followed by an

supper served by W. Clark, caterer,
added to the enjoyment of the evening,
and it was early morning before the
last carriage rolled away from the
hospitable home of one of Buffalo's
most ,charming hostesses. The bride
and groom left that night for Chicago,
St. Paul and other places. The groom'e
-favors-to-the-ushers-were-autu inn leaf_
scarf pins set in pearls.
Prominent among the out of town
'gaest was -the mother of the groom,
Mrs. .- Mitchell, of New York, who
wore lac satin covered chantilly lace
set off ith diamonds.

The Cosgroves
The famous Cosgrove Family ap-
peared before a crowded house in the
town hall on Tuesday evening last,
and the entertainment furnished by
them was undoubtedly the finest ever
given in the village. • This is the
second. time the Cosgroves have
appeared in Lucknow, and the addition
of Mr. John Driscoll, comic singer,
and Miss La Dell, elocutionist, to the
company, supplies all that is necessary
to make the troupe one of the best in
the Dominion.
Donald Dinnie
, Donald Dinnie, the famous Scotch
athlete who was in Lucknow some
• yeere age, is nos.'54 yeeta ef age,.
having been' brn at Ala6Yee, Aber-
deenshire, in July, 1837. His height
64feet, 1 inches, his chest measure-
ment 44 inches, and the calf of his leg
measures 17/ inches. • His records
are : Throwing the 16 -pound hammer,
132 feet 8 inches; putting the '16 -
pound stone, 44 feet 6 inches; putting
• the 22 -pound stone, 'above 3:p feet.
-Some of, his records, however, tare not
recognized because of the informal
, manner in which they were made,
