story oomea from
this morning. Mre Chas. Murphy ie ow
of a farm in Riley. She has lived alone in
the house for some time with her bandeome
daughter, Annie, aged 19. Daniel McMahon
was employed as hired man. Lest night
Mre. Murphy was called away to sit up
with a eiok friend. Thie morning when
she returned home she found her daughter
lying on the bed stone dead. Her throat
was out from ear to ear. Everything in
the room showed gigue of a terrible strug-
gle. ' On going to the hired man's room he
also was found wish hie throat out and
nearly dead. The neighbors think he killed
the girl, but are unable to tell anything
about it at present. They think he et•
tempted to outrage the girl, and upon her
offering resistance, he killed her and after-
wards attempted to kill himself. There is
great excitement in the neighborhood; It
is possible that two murders have been
committed.

in number, inoluding the report of the
Municipal Hospital in Moabit, one of the
departments of which is under Dr. Koch

end of 1890. They comprise about .eight
weeks, and contain no final results, but
their contents are nevertheless of great
importance. During the time in question
about.17,500 injections were made on 2,172
patients. The greatest number of injec-
tions received by one person was 54. The
largest dose was 3.826 grammes. Most of
the reports contain exaot histories of the
cases. Opinions differ considerably as to
the vain of the fluid as a diagnostic and
in discovering tnberonloeie' of internal

THE LUCKY BELL BOY
No Sooner Found a Fortune than a Mother
Turns Up. -
A Chicago deepatoh says : The story
told by Harry J. Ferguson, a bell boy in a
hotel here, to the effect that he had been
kidnapped from his home in New York
State when 5 years old, and that he had
fallen heir to $80,000, has led to unexpected
developments. A widow living in a fish.
ionable quarter of the oily olaime the boy
as her son. She says she was divorced
from A. J. Ferguson, the lads father, in
New York, and moved to Chicago, where
she married a man named Norton, since
deceased. She picked Harry out of a
group of boys as ber son, and in further
proof of his identity and her knowledge of
it, described certain marks upon his body.
She also related to the lad a number of
incidents in his childhood whioh he did not
remember till she called them to his mind.
The police are investigating.
The following gives the returns of the
Dominion elections of 1887. The names of
candidates, the party to vvbioh they be-

won their seats are given, also the changes
