Mr. McKenzie- spice for about half an hour, strongly condemning • the action of the Government for appealing to the country at the present time, and very ably supporting .the Reform platform of unrestricted re'aiproeity with the United States.. He was heartily applauded in taking his seat. Mr.. Morrison was then introduced and for an hour aud,. half held the utmost attention.... of ..the....large-u,whence, -- slid many tunes wag ,warmly 'applauded. He is a 'nice speaker and made the best possible, defence of the Govern- nhent's policy.• Ile was out and out in favor of reciprocity with the United Stites, but he did not think it could be obtained from the 'Americans, and noted the speeches of leading Liberals and others who. hacl declared it utterly. impracticable.
