The Mitohell Bros. of the .saw -mill
in this village, have already paid out
nearly $3000 to the farmers for maple
logs. They have enough logs in the
_yard to keep the mill running till July.
Is Marriage a Failure
Milton Brown aged'84, of Arhderdon,•
Tuesday led to the altar a bride in the
person of Mrs. Margaret Clickert aged

wives and 'the bride mourns the loss of•
five husbands. Her last husband died
two years •ago.at the adyawed 'age 'of

'It was rumored' that the band of
the Fire• Departrne:it had fallen
through, but we are pleased to say
that it is all right, and. their playing
ou the Street on Monday evening last
was enjoyed by'all. The boys have
made great progress under the leader-
ship of Mr. Sumner, and it would be a
great pity to let the band become
disorganized.
The Coming Concert,

Murray, and her talented class of

on Wednesday evening least, before a
large audience, which gathered in
response to a sleeting called by Mr.
James Rowena!, the Reform candidate
from West Bruce. The chair was
occupied by Reeve Bryan, and as Mr.
Hugh Morrison, the Conservative
candidate was also preselit, it was
agreed that Mr. Peter .McKenzie, of
Kinloss i hould open the meeting. Mr.
McKenzie- spice for about half an
hour, strongly condemning • the action
of the Government for appealing to
the country at the present time, and
very ably supporting .the Reform
platform of unrestricted re'aiproeity
with the United States.. He was
heartily applauded in taking his seat.
Mr.. Morrison was then introduced and
for an hour aud,. half held the utmost
attention.... of ..the....large-u,whence,

many tunes wag ,warmly 'applauded.
He is a 'nice speaker and made the
best possible, defence of the Govern-
nhent's policy.• Ile was out and out
in favor of reciprocity with the United
Stites, but he did not think it could
be obtained from the 'Americans, and
noted the speeches of leading Liberals
and others who. hacl declared it utterly.
