John's genial face is always a welcome
sight in and around Lucknow. •
The Quoiters are having a great time
of it. In fact it is the only sport in
the place, no Cricket,' no Lacrosse, no
Base Ball, no Tennis, nothing but the
jingle of the "Kits" is to be heard.
On Siaeaday, Jock Adams and- John
McGarry played a gime of twenty two
points. Jock allowed McGarry ten
points, but the latter had reached
twenty two before Jock got up to
twelve. Agother • game was played,
even up, in which Mr. McGarry was
again the victor, the _score being
22to6.

Henry, of Kincardine, paid an official
visit to 'Lucknow .Oddfellows on Fri-
day evening last, and installed the
officers for the current terns.

Business Transacted at the 1>rtegular Meeting,
Wingliam on July 8th. The moder-
ator's term of office having expired it
was announced that Mr. Howie'a
name was next on the roll. Mr.
Howie was' accordingly appointed
moderator, Elders' commission in
favor of Mr. Daniel Meiklejohn was
presented by the Session of Knox
church, 13elgrave.
Standing committees for the year
were appointed as follows :—State of

four candidates were up. Mr. Perry,
of Kincardine,acted in the same cap-
acity in Lucknuw, and had to, oversee
some. thirty three.
Not so many years aga it was pro-'
phesied (and I think this files of the
Sentinel for 1875 wil) show it) that

Lucknow' and the prophesy is being
remarkably verefed this year. Turn

place.
- Mr.. Allan McConnell, one of the
wardens of the London Asyluur, has
been rusticating at home.
Every person will be pleased to hear
that the popular cattle buyer, Mr.
Wm. McLean, is improving, after
his severe illness.

course in the London Military School.

The sale of the estate of the late
John Morrison was sold by Mr Peter
Corrigan, auctioneer, at McGarry's
Hotel, ° on . Tuesday. Lot No. ' 118, or.
Havelock st.r was knocked down at
$206, to D. B. McKenzie.(
Lot..No. 306,. on Stauffer st., went
at onily $250, Mr. Alex McPherson be-
ing the lucky buyer. •

of the pastoral charge of Knox.church,
Brussels. On motion of Mr. McDon-
ald, seconded by Mr. Law, it Was
agreed that the resignation lie -on the
table; and the congregation' be cited
ta appear for their interests at next
regular meeting. Mr. Forrest was ap-
pointed to cite the congregation.
A petition from the congregation of
I:uckuow transmitted through the
Session praying for leave to sell the
Knox church property in Lucknow,
for church purposes, was presented -by
Mr. McKay. On motion of Mr. Mc-
Lennan, seconded by Mr. McRae, the
petition was granted.

three Ministerial Commissioners in
rotation and the others by open vote,

After some discussion. it was agreed
that further consideration of this
motion be deferred till next meeting
of Presbytery.
The Presbytery adjourned to meet
again in the • same- place on_ 'Tuesday,
Sept. 9th at 11.15 a. m.

terson, the contractor, that gentleman
was much surprised and pleased with
the presentation of a beautiful gold -
